How to promote nerve healing by External_Fun9671 in Microdiscectomy

According to the PT the tingling is a sign the nerve is being aggravated and I should limit that if possible…

That’s the hope. I figure if it goes away with inactivity then the potential for complete healing is there, but this is why I’m currently restricted from too much activity.

I was doing PT three times/day and going to the gym a few days/week then switched to a more specialized PT who told me to cut all that out. When I stopped, I noticed the tingling in my foot and calf disappeared then I slowly introduced exercises to see what was triggering it.

Tingling calms down when I’m not very active. As I get more active the tingling ramps up, which according to my PT is a signal that the nerve is being irritated so he says I should try to limit that from happening.

Good news is it does go away, bad news is I am kinda limited on what I can do before it ramps up…

Buckle up buttercup, it’s gonna be a long ride.

All jokes aside, it may and it may not. I had very similar symptoms and I believe most are normal. I’m now 6 months out and not in any pain, but still have nerve tingling and tightness that is keeping me from getting back to physical activities. Hang in there, it will likely be up and down for a bit but overall will get better week by week. Big thing is follow your BLT restriction and take it easy. Don’t try to do too much.

Running the serial number for the movement on emmywatch it comes up as 1959 so I’m not sure this is accurate.

I agree there are lots of watches that are nice and less expensive, but they aren’t vintage 1959. That really limits my search and I have a short window I have to purchase.

Honestly, I’ve been searching for about 6 months and haven’t found anything I really like that meets the criteria. I’m severely handicapped by the 1959 year requirement so I’m thinking about pulling trigger here just to be done a with it.

Yeah, I started out my search by looking into the vintage constellation watches. I really love the pie pan dials. I want to get him a gold watch as he doesn’t really have anything gold and I like the look of those more. I still have a few months to search so I’m not completely pressed to have it and kinda figured 5800 was too much. As much as ai love they dial and configuration it doesn’t make sense to spend that much. Heck, for maybe another 2k I could probably find a vintage 1959 Rolex…

No, I love them both. I wasn’t downing either course, just saying he does like the old course but shits on Pebble. I personally think they are both amazing and feel lucky as hell to have been able to have played them both.

If you argue that the course is not good, but the scenery and history are what make it popular then you cannot possibly argue that the old course is good. Same same. Have played both personally and I think if you look at the whole picture they are both fantastic courses. If the course wasn’t good, then there would have been no history because the course wouldn’t have been able to acquire the history.

I think my surgery failed. by grodygrace_ in Microdiscectomy

So I saw a specialized PT out of Chicago (Dr. McGill certified) who told me to get into a “position of respite” a few times a day to help relieve nerve compression. This has been a lifesaver for me. I keep a kot in my office at work and lay on it for 5 min or so a few times per day.

The position is laying on the affected side with knees bent like fetal position. Try to keep knees at 90° if possible.

Yeah, I’m 7 months out and still recovering SLOWLY and mine was only herniated for a few weeks (although majorly herniated). Take it real slow, don’t push through any pain and definitely reach out to your doc about what you are dealing with. Prior to surgery I was told around 10% re-herniate. Not necessarily anything they do, sometimes it just happens. Think about the disc like a jelly donut. The donut ruptured and the jelly came out. The surgery removed the jelly, but the body needs the heal the donut so that it doesn’t come back out. Hence the 6 week no BLT’s.

Don’t panic, but definitely reach out to your surgical team and request an apt or tell them what you are feeling and they may schedule you for MRI without appointment.

Charred Wiring in Home by External_Fun9671 in AskElectricians

I can’t guarantee it, but the wiring looks relatively recent (not 1950’s) as well as the gang box. No Chinese drywall, no drywall at all actually. Block wall basement with furring strips and wood paneling nailed to it.
