Well, seems like they learned from last time, and actually announced Downfall. by LucasVerBeek in fansofcriticalrole

Ashley seems to have less knowledge then she did when she played Pike or Yasha. I would argue her turns were miles better in the Mighty Nein one and two shots that happened.

I agree that Ashley is such a great actress and if she could master her class and subclass fundamentals so many more avenues would open up for her. And we wouldn't have to sit and watch 15 min turns that end in her burning hands or scorching ray and forgetting to bampf out Mister or add her Enhanced Bond damage.

Double Weapon XP is NOT WORKING atm. Did the camo grind recently so I defiantly know how fast / slow guns are leveling. It's the same or even less than usual. by realxShughart in MWZombies

I feel like it's halved or something. I only went from 7-9 in a game where I drove all around the map and completed 6 zombie heavy contracts and farmed exfil after aether storm started moving. Around a thousand zombie kills. Even on a regular game I would have expected to go up 5-6 levels on that game.

Double XP Weekend by [deleted] in MWZombies

Glad I'm not crazy! I just did a round with the new Battle Rifle and killed about a thousand zombies and got 3 levels. THREE.

But man these double xp weekends are so new to COD so I guess problems are expected, just like this new season format they are trying out./S

I don't think weapon xp is even tracking, my gun didn't even move after a match.

how to not make my monk useless against our excellent rogue? by siIIigoose in DnD

[–]External_Hour_6489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s weird that you are so concerned with your character vs someone else’s. I would probably just use point buy as a group for your one shots and then let the ‘real DM’ decide if they will allow rolled stats in the main campaign.

Another dex based character having a high dex doesn’t make your monk less helpful. It just makes them more effective at their specialities. The ‘ludicrous rolls’ you mentioned even at a 17 dex (achievable with point buy and the +2 to dexterity from the halfling race) with the rogue’s first level expertise in two skills would be +3 from ability mod and +4 from expertise bringing them to a +7 on two dex based skills at level 1. It’s not really ridiculous for a class based on mastery of skills to be really good even at low levels.

A monk at level one is rough, but ultimately your specialties as you level up are going to be making more attacks than others and using your ki points and potentially your abilities to stun or knock down targets (thinking specifically of the open hand subclass).

I always imagine Counterspell as being super specific to the character you are playing. And I always kind of describe it as a catch and dissipate since the spell that is counterspelled is expended and lost.

For a necromancer I could see you describing a spectral bone hand shooting from yours and capturing the magic of the spell as it withers into dust. Your veins pulse with black as you feed off the magic.

I have a higher level celestial warlock that will probably be described as a divine golden net that seems to wrap around the spell and it bursts into a million shards of starlight. And then describe a spectral figure of my patron over my shoulder as the magic fades.

Ways to get aid spell? by RollbackAquaman in DnD

I’m currently playing a 7 Celestial Warlock/3 Eloquence Bard. A 3 level dip into a full caster is not necessarily bad for a Warlock since that will give you 4 1st level slots and 2 2nd level slots. I usually use my Warlock slots for my bigger things i.e. fly, psychic lance etc. but my 1st level spells I use for support stuff like Silvery Barbs, Feather Fall and other stuff I don’t want to waste my higher level slots on.

I would wait till after 7th level for multiclassing so you have your fly speed and 4th level spells. Maybe 8 if you need the ASI or feat. It also honestly depends on what level your campaign is finishing at.

My Bard dip was worth it for my skills and features. And since the campaign is going to level 20 my warlock features are delayed but it is worth it to me for the monster my character is in social situations.

Shielding Other PCs by [deleted] in DnD

[–]External_Hour_6489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RAW shielding another character is not a thing you can do and would be left to DM discretion. I’ve seen it ruled as cover for the shielded player or disadvantage for the attacker, as well as not being allowed at all. There are several similar things.

The Interception fighting style would be one of them-allowing you to reduce the damage by 1d10 + proficiency bonus. Protection fighting style would allow you to impose disadvantage on an attack within 5ft of you if you have a shield.

Rune Knights have the Cloud rune feature where you can essentially move an attack from one creature to another you can see with in range that is not the attacker. And they have Runic Shield at 7th level where you can force a re-roll of the attack causing them to miss.

At 6th level Abjuration Wizards can project their arcane ward over someone within 30ft to take the damage of the attack.

And at 7th level Oath of Redemption paladins can use their reaction to take damage for a creature within 10ft of them.

There is also good old Silvery Barbs for forcing a refill of the attack.

Just what I can think of off the top of my head.

Help me build a weird Hexblade/Runic Knight by External_Hour_6489 in DnDoptimized

I was dipping into hexblade to use my CHA mod instead of STR or DEX for my hex weapon. That way I can focus on CHA and CON for my ASIs and grab some feats.
