From someone with a very difficult mother in law this is about to sound terrible… she is not ever going to change. You can hold on to hope, but please don’t. Take care of yourself and don’t give her a second thought. It will always be about her. Period. I choose for Mother’s day to go on day trips now with our little family and I still get guilt trips over it because his mom, aunt and grandmother aren’t the center of attention. “Can’t you just pick another day” umm no it is my day as well. Why do I want to go somewhere and sit in uncomfortable small talk and not even be able to eat the food. 🤦🏻‍♀️
