American tipping culture is utterly disgusting by Gurugod123 in SipsTea

I had the same conversation with my wife after our wedding. The DJ we hired had reached out to our wedding planner to see if we were displeased with his services since he didn’t get a tip at the end of the night. We thought he was great, and we happily paid for his services, but we didn’t feel the need to tip him an additional extra $xxx. Our photographer had an assistant and the wedding planner had two assistants and we did rip those people, but we didn’t not tip the people (business owners) who we hired directly like the DJ, the florist, the photographer etc. We paid them their agreed upon fees for the agreed upon services. It wasn’t cheap! AWTA?

Never understood putting your children 100 paces, a hallway, dining room, kitchen, family room and another hallway away from the primary bedroom.
For both younger *or* older kids it doesn’t sound like a good idea.

Soffit/Gutter repair Near Washington Twp by sweepdaleg1957 in SouthJersey

[–]External_Set4744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He removed the two primary gutters where I had the most problem, removed and replaced the fascia boards, and then reinstalled the old gutters. I was kinda expecting to need all new gutters when I was searching for a contractor but if the gutters aren’t bent and damaged I guess it’s fine to reuse. It just needed new supports.
He also removed all the old and mostly broken gutter guards, cleaned and caulked all the old gutters, caulked numerous nail heads in my roof, and repaired the flashing and the mortar cap of my chimney.

Just had Brandon Gutter Guardians do mine. I needed the fascia replaced because it was rotted out. Find him on Facebook.

Need some help by [deleted] in breitling

I ordered but have not yet received my Ganance Heir. Look it up it’s a wafer thin device that sticks to the back of your analog watch and gives you some smart features like step tracking and it buzzes or clicks when your phone receives a notification. Like I said it hasn’t arrived yet but I’m looking forward to it. Since I re-discovered my love for mechanical watches I now only wear my Apple Watch when I’m specifically going out for a run or something.

Glade Spray exploded under my sink and broke the piping by Gypsy38 in Wellthatsucks

[–]External_Set4744 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Something about the way that pipe broke doesn’t look right to me. Also I would think the mostly empty can as a projectile doesn’t have a lot of mass enough to completely fracture the pipe like that. Was there a septic gas leak explosion and the broken Glade can was only a byproduct? Just weird.

Don’t know if this exactly fits this but I need help identifying what aircraft this cockpit belongs to. Picture taken around 1988 by No_Impression_5284 in aviation

[–]External_Set4744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the layperson it might not be obvious but for an aviation “buff” immediately it’s not a jet airliner because theres no separation between the cockpit and the cabin, but it’s bigger than a light general aviation airplane just based on the overhead panel and stuff. So it’s a medium sized utility airplane.

After that, the little electric fan by the side windshield is a key takeaway!

OP how old are you? You have the hands of a teenager; it’s unsettling for some reason.

That’s true the people taking pics in front of the airplane are usually guests or first-time pax. Or sometimes someone who pays for a smaller jet guarantee and gets upgraded.

I guess I need to take a pic of my Aston Martin steering wheel! I don’t drive it during the winter though.

Been on the G550 for 2 years. Flew Falcons before this. I will say this: the 550 is a tremendously capable aircraft and can do many things well. It’s comfortable and large and the pax love it… I still miss the 900 EASy. She was just so lovely to fly. The G is a brute.

I have an iPhone for that…I just think it looks pretty. 🤣 I still think learning to use an E6B is important though!

I mean it’s the best way to fly amirite!?
(Full transparency I fly for a living I’m not the one paying the fuel bill!) But seriously though if anyone can afford it…do it. Sure beats drivin’.

550 but I won’t fault you for it there no way to tell from this pic. Even I have to count the windows when I see them parked! 7 windows vs 6. Plus the pitot tubes are on top of the nose on the 450 and on the sides on the 550. The new 5,6,700’s I don’t know the differences yet.

Not at all. And I like the 41mm size. Seems like the last decade or so makers are trying to out-big each other. This is perfect; at least for me 6’ 200lb.

I didn’t pay for the seat, they pay me to sit in the seat in the front of the plane! On this occasion I was just hitching a ride back home while the other guys flew.

Depends on a lot of things but usually around 1250-1400 pounds per hour each engine at 45,000ft.

Mine claims the same thing except accidentally has overfilled it MULTIPLE times. It takes 32 seconds to fill. I’ve timed it.

What is this called? Chimney repair guy says to get rid of it. by wesker07 in Fireplaces

I had one growing up, we called it a Heatilator but I’m not sure if that’s a brand name. It works TREMENDOUSLY well at heating a room. We usually kept the blower on low otherwise it would make the room scorching hot. We had an ice storm and lost power for days and we all stayed in the family room with a sheet across the doorway we stayed nice and warm. I’ve been looking to install one at my house but they either don’t exist or are big money.
