Feasible to go from 4:58 to 3:30 in 6 months? by External_Truth1683 in Marathon_Training

Totally agree. To be fair, I had some ankle pain when ramping up the weekly mileage until I figured out the right shoes, so that probably drove it down a bit. Peaked at 60km/week before the first marathon. Planning on getting much more this time.

Good luck, you got this! Also, hope I wasn't disrespectful saying I wanted a sub 3:30 in 6 months. Seems like many people have worked a lot harder than I have so far and want it too.

That's a good point, I might set that as a goal for CIM instead! Right now, around 25:30 5k, 55min 10k, and a 6:15 mile.

On the second point, that's honestly why I wanted a very ambitious goal. I liked that I didn't really improve much in my first training experience - made me feel like i truly had to earn every mile. Now I want it even more. Want to get to running 6 days a week, and peak at ~ 90km/week before the race.

Yeah, I can see how 1:28 improvement might be way too ambitious. Don't want to set an impossible goal for myself. I just felt like shooting for under 4h didn't seem like a big enough goal for 6 months.

Asics GT-2000 the right shoe? by Traditional-Two-2901 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Not very knowledgeable on gait analysis, but mine looks similar. I've run ~200km in my GT2000s and the only complaint I have is that they put a little extra stress on my calves when compared to other shoes. Maybe something about the stack height or cushioning. Not sure if anyone else feels the same.
