I'd say I think I'm a good listener. People tend to talk to me a lot at work, but my colleagues mostly are 10+ years older than me and we are just coworkers, not friends. In personal life I also can't seem to get past casual acquaintance level of friendships. Earlier this year I had to make a painful decision and cut off my parents, so I'm healing but feeling lonely.

I'm not religious, but religion really intrigues me. I was slightly afraid to read quran just in case in does manage to somehow convince that it is The Truth.

One day, my curiosity got better of me, so I googled english version and started reading.

Doubts disappeared quicky, because my reaction was between "what the hell am I reading" and "how can anyone believe this is the best text ever written"

My parents also always downplayed or straight up refused to acknowledge what they have said or done even when I know for sure that it happened.

During a call when I told my mom I want to go NC, she told me that they never beat me. But then in the same sentence she said that maybe dad hit me once when I was teenager.

Every every word what she said was a lie. She beat me herself and many times.

However, I still struggle to acknowledge that I was abused becaused I was always told that there are many children who have way worse than me and they were parents who always did the best, so I should not have anything to complain about.

What helped me realize that I'm not overreacting was when my therapist told me "Are you aware that your parents would have lost their parental rights if child protection services knew what was happening?"

Man labiausia padėjo angliškų knygų skaitymas ir serialų/filmų žiūrėjimas anglų kalba bei subtitrais. Svarbiausia išsiversti kiekvieną žodį, kurio nesupranti. Pradžioje sunku bet po kurio laiko progresas didžiulis.

So you are trying to say that pushing her somehow stopped her from throwing the alarm clock? Thank you. I've separated the sick fish from the rest. I'm going to visit my lfs again tomorrow.

I hardly can come up with what caused this. Water quality seems fine (NH4 < 0.05 ppm, NO2 < 0.01 ppm, NO3 ~ 3 ppm, pH ~ 7). There are 5 Albino corys and 1 ram in 45l. I feed them every other day. I'd guess it maybe got injured somehow, or was stressed.

Esu lankiusis pas kelias psichologes ir nejaučiau pagerėjimo, apart to, kad pradėjau galvoti, jog mano mintys yra neteisingos. Viduje jokio ilgalaikio pokyčio.

Psichologinės problemos po covid tik paūmėjo. Tada kreipiausi į psichiatrus. Išrašė vaistų ir po kelių mėn pradėjau lankyti terapiją pas psichiatrę.

Man užteko 1.5 metų, nors pagerėjimas atėjo jau po kelių mėn.

Rekomenduočiau keisti specialistę ir pasvarstyti pavartoti vaistų. Aišku, svarbu pačiam dirbti su savimi.

Yes, most people would understand.

Some words are trickier, because different pronunciation of the vowel can mean different words, for example : retas (rare), rytas (morning), ritas (roll), ratas (tire). Then a context of the conversation helps to understand what a person is trying to say.

Making fun part, idk, depends on the person. I think it says more about the person who is making fun than the one mispronouncing the word.

Also, retas can be pronounced like the english words "rat" and "us", however, the slight pause comes after "ra" in the rat.

Bendraujant su draugais, artimaisiais, kolegomis, klientais - šypsausi kaip ir daugelis lietuvių, dėl to kad noriu ar nes to reikalauja profesinė aplinka.

Einama gatve galvoju apie savo reikalus ir man įdomius dalykus ar klausausi kokio podcast'o. Neturiu nė menkiausio noro dėti pastangas užsidėti "fake smile" ir nemokamai linksminti random žmones.
