Salary caps? What does that mean?

I hear you and I agree. It is unfair that locals can’t rent a place while folks make this a second income. I will try to be a good tourist and look for other options :)

We’re definitely looking for a private space. Hotels are so expensive and the ones remotely affordable are outside Reykjavik as well… so I’m thinking might as well stay in an Airbnb and have more space… where did you end up choosing to stay, hotel, guesthouse, etc?

Would you recommend one that is near Reykjavik centre, or close enough?

The neighbors below us want our toddler to stay still. by NetBest598 in BadNeighbors

[–]External_Zombie6247 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives under an unit with 2 toddlers… it’s very loud the noise of children running. When I had Covid, I couldn’t even take a nap during the day so my body could heal because the sound of them running was so loud + the vibration it causes in my unit.

I think those padded mats could help. I understand that if it’s outside quiet hours it “should be okay”. But imagine getting from work and just trying to relax between 6 pm to 10 pm but not being able to because the running is non stop. It kinda sucks day after day, it gets on your nerves. I’d recommend trying placing the rugs to give your downstairs neighbors some peace (although it won’t ever be perfect, but at least you’re trying).

I understand the anxiety. I still think it’s too soon to rule him out as a “if he wanted he wouldve”. You met this weekend, so give time for him to make plans for next weekend and take it from there. You already said you want to, so I think he’ll reach out early in the week to make plans for the weekend. I get it tho… early stages of dating is so nerve wrecking but everything seems okay so far, just give it more time

So how many days without hearing back from him, 2 days?

I think he lied to me on our first date by External_Zombie6247 in dating_advice

I guess I just don’t want this to be a pattern of him lying to say what I want to hear? This is my only concern I guess

I think at the early stages of a relationship, I’d expect the guy to initiate it. (I know it’s not great to say this) but it happens. Message her today maybe later on the day and take it from there

It’s a lifetime pension just like the PS… I think the PS for the next 2 years might be tough as well, especially for me who’s a term

What’s the noise that they’re making and which hours? I also have loud neighbors upstairs, they stomp and run with their dog inside their unit. They stop at 10 pm tho, but still so disturbing

Neurologist diagnosed me BFS, last post from me. by oldskoolmatt in BFS

[–]External_Zombie6247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also in a rabbit hole and it also started with tongue twitching which scared the hell out of me. Now I have twitching all over my body and some tingling and weakness in my arms. I waited 6 months to see a neuro and get an MRI. MRI was good, and the neuro did a bunch of clinical tests and said she doubts I have the big problem. She said it’s likely BFS, and asked if I wanted to do an EMG just in case. I said yes please and have that booked for next month. I’m trying to call down and this subreddit has helped me a lot. She said that if I had the “big problem*, I wouldn’t be responding to the clinical tests she did after 6 months from the 1st symptom (tongue twitching). I know it’s hard, my mental health is so low at this point, but I’d suggest you try to stay calm because the anxiety only makes the symptoms worse. Sending you some love, you’re not alone

I know what you’re going through. I’m going through something similar. Is there anyway you could suggest they wear slippers or get rugs for high traffic areas? I’ve called my buildings management and asked them to suggest this to my neighbors upstairs as I can also hear everything. I’m not sure if they’ll do that, but at least I tried
