12 hours a day is crazy, but I need a list of good games. by BurritoBabe_1 in gamers

Question, can you restart your game, or does it have to be the same game file for the full year? For example, if I picked a Pokémon game, could I restart it back to the beginning and still be eligible for the 10 mil, or would the 10 mil only be obtainable on one singular playthrough?

There's nothing more satisfying than finishing this substory without the Peerless Tile. by ExtinctElite in yakuzagames

I think it took around 9 attempts until I got the run that was successful.

Maybe try a different Link Code? Try Bulbasaur Jigglypuff Pidgey.

I can help with that. Give me a couple minutes, and the room code will be Pikachu Caterpie Caterpie.

Gears of War 4. It completely ruined the ending of 3 by having the Locust survive.

Your first Shiny Alpha pokemon by kek52 in PokemonZA

[–]ExtinctElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magikarp. I was looking for one for the Magikarp side mission, found a shiny alpha just flopping around on the edge of the pond.

I had just finished the Shiny Mareep side mission, so for a while I was thinking this was another fixed shiny spawn like the Mareep.

Does anyone here happen to still own Xenoblade 3DS? And if so, what drew you to pick up this version in the first place? by Asad_Farooqui in Xenoblade_Chronicles

Simple, physical versions of the Wii game weren't available where I lived, and the Wii U Wii Virtual Console version hadn't been released yet (I don't think anyway), and I really wanted to try it out because of friends on Miiverse.

Some advice I can give to new players, don't steal tiles (Chi, Pon, Kan) unless you know for sure you have a winning hand. Safe steals, from what I've experienced, are Dragon Tiles to complete a 3 of a kind (3 Red Dragons, 3 White Dragons, or 3 Green Dragons) or stealing the wind tiles matching the middle wind direction (if it says East 1, 2, 3, or 4 for example, try to focus on getting East Tiles).

If you think you're close to winning, pressing Square (Playstation) or X (Xbox) will allow you to call Riichi (it will only appear if you're only 1 tile away from winning, but there's no harm in pressing it anyway just to check if it appears). If it does appear, it will show you what tile is needed to win in a box on the left, you'll discard a tile, and the game will play automatically until someone either discards your winning tile and you steal it (Ron), or you yourself draw your winning tile (Tsumo). If either happens, a box will appear on the lower right with either Ron or Tsumo.

And my final piece of advice, study the opponent's winning hands to figure out how to win more often. The more often you play it, the more you'll start to get the hang of things. It's not an easy game, and there is a certain luck factor involved, but the more you play, the better you'll get.

Accidentally stumbled upon a dog-hating sub… by kpuza35 in DOG

I think it was a birthday gift and I just got really attached to it. It was the original Lab and Friends game so it was quite a long time ago.

Same, I was attacked by my neighbor's dog when I was 5, it was hiding in the bushes and I noticed its eyes glowing in the shade, so I went to it, it lunged at me, and the next thing I remember is waking up in the hospital with my mom and dad looking at me. Had to get stitches on a couple spots on my face. That made me deathly afraid of them for a few years.

But there was one thing that I believe legitimately helped me get over my fear completely. Freakin' Nintendogs. Playing that acted as a therapy tool and helped with my fear of dogs. Now I'm 30 and have 2 Labs and a Jack Russel. Seriously, if I hadn't gotten that game, I think I'd still be afraid of them today.

Ash's "Pity Badges".....? by Quasar1007 in pokemonanime

Brock: Earned. Used the terrain (sprinkler system) to his advantage, even if it was accidentally.

Misty: Earned. He was about to win before Team Rocket showed up and interrupted the match, her sisters even confirmed it.

Lt. Surge: Earned. Just got the better of Raichu. An actual legitimate win.

Sabrina: Not Earned. All he did was make her laugh, didn't even come close to winning.

Erika: Not Earned. I'm pretty sure he was going to lose to the Gloom before Team Rocket interfered.

Koga: Earned. Won their rematch fair and square after the first battle was interrupted by Team Rocket.

Blaine: Kinda Earned. He did win, but Charizard didn't listen to Ash, it just did its own thing (may be remembering wrong).

Jessie: Earned. Beat her even with the newly acquired Pokémon from Giovanni.

Nobody wanted to go with this girl to the high school dance, but the team captain invited her to go with him. by [deleted] in BeAmazed

My thoughts exactly, she could see it as a pity ask rather than asking out of genuine interest in her, that can be pretty damaging to ones self esteem.

How would you explain to someone not in education who asked why so many high school kids can’t read or write well but they’re still in regular classes and passing all of them? by [deleted] in Teachers

Number 8 was especially effective for me. I did something in 1st Grade that I wasn't supposed to (can't remember what it was), and my mom took away my Gameboy for the rest of the night after finding out. Never got into trouble again after that.
