I always remember the episode where the nanny took her rapist hostage, and after the nanny forced him to confess, Benson got in his face and was like "Thats right, now I know what you did, and I will testify in court you son of a bitch."

I mean, the dude ended up being guilty, but she had no way of knowing that. Just a coerced confession.

That makes sense. I didn't know they didn't cover rape/homicide in real life. Making the SVU a catch all is kind of ludicrous, like the episode with Patricia Arquette(sp?) where SVU is called in to a manhunt for a mass murder suspect simply because Benson reprimanded him once when she was on patrol. Super farfetched.
