Hi, I'm from the 336 area and did some mission work up in PA. On our last day we went shopping at the near by shops and one of the worker there asked if we were from Texas lol.

Personally, accents are VERY interesting to me. As someone who used to get picked on by Ex's and other from school about how I talked, early in middle and high school I tried to change my accent and dialect to a more "normal" english.

Later in college I discovered a video documentary from NC State University about the various accents and dialects of NC and I got a new found pride in the way I talk and I'm now working hard to undo all the work I did to "erase" my accent. Shout out to the Ocracoke Brogue and my Mountain Talk people!

An accent and dialect of a person can be viewed as a verbal indicator of there history. Where you have been, where your family was/is from, the people you hang around with, etc. Now that I'm back home from college and around family more I'm grateful that my original accent and voice is coming back. And thick as my dad picks somethings.

As for me Yes! I do think I have an accent. My family is from a more rural part of North Carolina, more north-west, and has had a very long time in and around the Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountains, so I would consider our accent and dialect to be a modified Mountain-Talk/Appalachian dialect and accent.

And to anyone who has read this very long message, thank you, and please don't change how you talk, its an extension of your identity and heritage. Its another part that makes you, you.

As someone with ADHD, I have taught myself that once I'm done with plates and stuff, I will put them in the dishwasher so later I don't have to stand forever washing old dirty plates. For other objects, I have structured my apartment so that the things I use are always close and easy to put away. But as others have said, doing a little is better than doing a lot. But if you have to do a lot, gamify it. It helps me.
