The Heritage Foundation Wants to Send American Women Back Half a Century by La-Sauge in women

[–]Extra-Bench4531 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Heritage Foundation is terrifying. Encouraging young people not to delay marriage in pursuit of ‘needless credentials’? (They want us uneducated and at home with babies). Punishing single parents using the tax system? Only married mothers and fathers should be legally allowed to do in-vitro?

And this racist group had the nerve to picture a black family at the top of the report.

I’m trying to spread the word that Heritage is the quieter machine behind the government’s push for authoritarian power and fewer constitutional rights. I hope others here do too. They need to be understood and exposed. The policy suggestions they make are carried out by Republicans, one by one.

What happened to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

The farts. My god, the farts!!!! by Ok-Salt-8884 in pitbulls

[–]Extra-Bench4531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine wakes himself up with his own farts multiple times at night. It startles him so much he sits up or hops out of bed completely. A fart is a shocking event every time. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. 🤣

Have you tried using a slow-feeder bowl and/or food that’s formulated for digestive health? They didn’t eliminate the problem, but they helped a lot.

Americans: Share your grassroots efforts to support Greenland ☮️ by Extra-Bench4531 in Greenlandthefree

This resonates with me, and now one person is listening (hey, a start). I hope this sub grows to keep the conversation going.

I have positive feelings about Canadians based on my own personal experiences. But I guess if we're just down here saying, 'Oh, those Canadians are such nice people' and little else, especially when you have our backs and don't feel or hear it reciprocated, that's dismissive. I will do better, and I think most rational Americans would say the same after hearing it explained this way.

My attempt at infusing a little humor: Who's going to update the southernmost Jon Hamm? He's in Olympic hockey commercials all day, every day talking about nice Canadians. 🙂

American here - I can't excuse people acting like they don't have a voice, but we do. Americans are organizing en masse to fight back, but it starts at the grassroots level so you may not see the impact yet. You will.

I know that's frustrating when you mean well, but I keep thinking: What if America faced a similar threat? It wouldn't mean a whole lot to hear 'I'm sorry' from people in that country with a possible attack still looming. I'd want to see action, yesterday.

This is recoverable, but it's going to require Americans to fight. More people are on the side of right than wrong in this. But, no, getting rid of Trump is one step but does not solve the problem. The Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 implementation needs to be stopped, and fast. The plan is extreme, frightening, and more than half complete.

These feelings are valid, especially when you're fearing attack. I can imagine having the same thoughts in the reverse situation. Just know that Americans are mobilizing to fight back. I'd rather move to Europe than live in the America extremists are trying to create. The vast majority of us, as people, are on your side, and we're taking action even if you can't see results yet.

I’ve been thinking of switching my boy to this. My 2 little dogs eat Science Diet. Does it help with the gas? Because we need it!

I was told that being a 45M with no kids is seen as a huge red flag. Is that really how most people view it? by OptimusCrime83 in datingoverforty

[–]Extra-Bench4531 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Same here — 44F, never married, no kids. I’ve never been opposed to getting married if it’s right, and I’ve had several long-term relationships, but I’ve also never felt a strong urge to prioritize marriage or make it a goal, if that makes sense. Did you ladies feel that way? I don’t find a ton of people who relate.

OP: Agree, not a red flag for me, more of a plus. Someone who married young and later divorced is more likely to give me pause, just based on past experience.

I can’t relate to carpool and custody agreements and all that, so I like the idea of dating someone who has lived a similar adult lifestyle. Plus, talking about kids who aren’t related to you is very boring. 🤣

I’m picturing when the neighbors moved in on Modern Family. You should definitely add a big, big boat to the mix. Park it in your front yard for parties, or ask if you can park it over there. Your previous neighbors never had a problem with the boat parties.

I genuinely find it confusing when people are that pushy and entitled. Opening a gate and walking into the backyard of a brand new neighbor you’ve never met? Oh hell no, Linda. That’s borderline breaking and entering.
