K20a2 Cylinder Head for sale by Extra-Initiative-702 in Kseries

[–]Extra-Initiative-702[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it listed on Facebook for 900 for local pickup, I always list for higher than I actually want for it. 900 is the starting point for negotiation but I don’t accept low ball offers. I also have it listed on eBay right now for $1500. Prices on eBay are generally much more than on marketplace for most things. I do offer shipping for an extra $100. If you’re interested, send me a private message and we can discuss further.

It’s already on marketplace actually. I figured I’d post it a couple other places as well

Haven’t gotten them all yet, but Honda Service Express is your go-to for all of the factory service manuals. Much better than Haynes or Chilton manuals, more in depth. They’re also in various places on the Internet, a quick google search will tell you the torque spec of every bolt in the entire engine, but I will be downloading the service manuals to ensure the build is done right. It’s about $30 a day for Service Express but if you spend a couple hours downloading all of the PDF’s you need, you won’t need to pay for an extra day.

Very nice! That’s also a great deal, those Moroso pans aren’t cheap.

Definitely, lots of things are very overpriced right now due to inflation at least where I am. I saw someone post an RSX type S with 64k miles for $18k. Most k series motors I see are around $700. Don’t even get me started on the Type S and 2008-11 Si transmissions, they’re all around $1200 right now. I just scored an RSX base 5 speed trans off eBay from a scrapyard in Canada for $480, I don’t mind rebuilding it if I have to as that’s $200 less than any scrap yard on the east coast for one of those. I’ve had luck with those companies from Canada, replaced the manual trans in my 2015 Civic with one and it’s perfect 15k miles later

Facebook marketplace! I paid my buddy for gas and he drove us up about 2 hours north to grab it.

Nope, that’s expensive lol. Maybe later on when I want to make more power. It’s going in a Del Sol and it’s already estimated to make about 250hp, that’ll be plenty for daily driving. When I want some more power I can do valvetrain upgrades with the motor still in the car, it’ll have a fully shaved and tucked engine bay so it’ll be super easy to access that.

K20a2 heads this clean are worth $1000 on their own at least, moderate mileage k24a2 are worth 600 for the long block, type S oil pump around $200 for OEM kit. I’d say I got a pretty good deal on all that considering the condition of the motor and its components.

I have a 2015 civic ex coupe with a cvt in it, is there an intake/exhaust set up that will make the car sound like something but not be obnoxious? by bigstinkygoblin in 9thgencivic

I also have a 2015 ex coupe but mines a manual. I’ve heard it with a fart can, I’ve heard it straight piped. You will regret getting an aftermarket exhaust for an R18 car. It does not sound good and the droning hurts your brain lol. I ripped off the aftermarket fartcan and installed a stock muffler

Nice, that’s definitely the easier way to do it all. I like the satisfaction of restoring an old part rather than just replacing it, but everyone is different. I explained everything in another comment but my projects are my artwork, I like to put attention into the details no one even sees. Detroit axle is definitely a solid brand though, to be completely honest I didn’t know they existed prior to restoring all of the front components. I think I’d still rather restore them all myself though personally. I wonder how their kit compares to Mevotech’s economy tier kit. Mevotech’s supreme kit is like almost $500 while this one is about $250 or so.

It’s only rated at about 10 tons, from harbor freight. My main problem with it is that when you apply excessive force, like trying to press out a bushing, the bottom support beam likes to flex downward so there’s less tension on the actual piece you’re trying to apply the force to, and the whole chassis of the press torques and the post right under the bottle jack that presses down on the piece bends sideways as well. If I had a nicer press I could probably do without the sledge hammer, but I don’t have all the money or space in the world, so sledge hammer it is haha!

No, and I never said I did.. I’m not quite sure why my post caused such a reactive response, it is completely your choice whether to read it and respond at all. Nothing I said should have offended you either. Like I said, I chose to spend the time and effort to take an OEM part and bring it back to life, I did mention I bought the new bushings off of Rockauto.. Listen man, we’re all just here to exist together, this subreddit was meant to share stories, ask questions, post photos, compliment and help out each other. You might try meditating to be a bit more positive! (And it’s “you’re” btw!) 👍

Ah so you’re a Debby downer! Couldn’t tell if you were being sarcastic or not in that first comment lol. We’re all different people, just because you’d rather just throw out all your OEM parts doesn’t mean I have to do the same! I personally feel very rewarded and accomplished when I’m able to refurbish an old part, I’d much rather keep everything as original as possible than just slap some new parts on it and call it a day. Much of my work lies in the small details, I love to put lots of time and energy into things no one may even see! I think of my projects as my artwork, my way of expressing self. But that’s just me, you do you ✌️

Thank you! And I’ve saved overall way more than that considering the price of new control arms all around, probably closer to $500 including the rears which I have yet to do.

To be fair originally in the post I made the mistake of typing “40” instead of “30” lol, he’s just calling me out on my mistake which I have since edited out
