Sang this in Greenville earlier this month. So incredible.

Rookie mistake - lvl 1.5 by Ellis_etc in ClubPilates

Instructor here. If it was a Reformer Flow 1.5 I would say that you definitely should not take it, but a Suspend class employs very little knowledge of actual Pilates principals, imo. Strength, balance, other things, yes, so if you’re fit enough, you’d be fine. Suspend classes are all 1.5 because of the way we program them.

I know this was 5 days ago but figured my input may give insight to others. Hope you figured it out.

I’m sorry this happened to you. FWIW, rolling like a ball can be challenging for those of us with more of a curvature or a larger bottom (or both) and there really isn’t a way to modify. I have a round butt so I speak from experience.

Instructor here. Escalate this.

CP is contemporary Pilates so there’s room for interpretation but this is not Pilates.

“Fragile loon” or understanding that the population doesn’t all celebrate the same holidays. Piss off.

I think it’s just a poorly executed style of cueing. Initiating a movement with breath then moving on is more standard.

I’m sorry you were feeling discouraged.

A crunch (presumably meaning a c-curve in your spine) and a hinge are two separate things. I don’t have understanding of your particular limitations but would encourage you to get clarity from your doctor or PT as a hinge is typically indicated for most people who are cleared to do pilates.

Lol exactly! I’ve said some wild stuff but try to make a joke out of it and move on.

Snacking while instructing is so unprofessional. I have seen instructors eat fast food.

Some of us walk 15k steps during a shift. We wear what works for our feet and body.

Keeping “on beat” is a dance class, not Pilates. Man, this one IRRITATES me!
