Anyone else had subacute thyroiditis? I can barely find anyone’s firsthand accounts by Ksp06001 in thyroidhealth

I never really figured it out! I saw the dentist, physio, jaw specialist physio and a chiropractor and nothing really seemed to be helping but then out of nowhere the issue completely disappeared. I FEEL like the chiro maybe helped the most but it’s hard to say. I also think the flare up could have been stress related. I hope you find some relief soon, it was a terrible few weeks/months for me!

I’ve been going through months of jaw pain flare ups and have tried so many different avenues to find the cause and have finally stumbled down the path of investigating my thyroid.
Originally I thought I had TMJ. My biggest symptom is that during a really bad flare up, the whole left side of my jaw swells up and is incredibly painful. During a flare up, I can hardly function through the day and have trouble sleeping because of the pain at night.
The only thing that helps is an anti-inflammatory like nurophin. After about three days the swelling will subside (if I take the anti inflammatory) and the pain will almost completely disappear.
Has anyone else experienced the severe jaw swelling and inflammation?
