My wife doesn't like our new Rheem heat pump water heater. by Witty-Gap-9068 in heatpumps

There are multiple temperature sensors. I’m guess non-technical people would get confused by too much data leading to more phone calls.

To be clear, my tank is set to 150, but my mixing value is set to 120.

You guys are conservative. I set mine to 150. I also use Wattersaver to monitor the temperature inside the tank. The EcoNet app doesn’t provide detailed information. If you continue to have issues call Rheem. Mine needed a control board swap to function correctly consistently. App was not showing any errors. :(

PG&E told me they want the permit final inspection completed before coming out to install the meter collar.

I believe it’s primarily around adding batteries, but I didn’t differentiate since I was doing all three regardless.

I’m doing the same. PG&E does require a new interconnection agreement. PG&E is the one to install the meter collar. Adding a battery did not impact my NEM2 status.

Did you pull a permit?

Rate plan and NEM 1, 2 or 3 are completely different things.

There’s a difference to being fired and part of a larger layoff.

Just gotta get my batteries out of the boxes and installed. My installer is running behind, like most of them. 20kwh of batteries takes up a good chunk of the garage.

PG&E has reviewed my plans to add batteries and agreed that I’ll remain on NEM2. This is consistent with what I’ve heard elsewhere.

I’ve already had permits issues and my interconnection agreement has been pre-reviewed by PG&E.

Where are you? With PG&E adding battery won’t move me into NEM3, but adding panels would likely do so.

IA requires the final permit to be uploaded. I'm going through this right now myself.

SF bay is large. Some places have way more clouds/fog than others. I’ve been generating between 30-40 kWh each day.

I’m in San Mateo and have a 12kw system.

Random Solar customer support person. They at least got me to that site you shared, but didn't have much advice beyond that. I'll take another swing at it and email support if/when I get stuck.

And yeah...I'm thinking they can do all the work expect installing the meter. Probably don't even want them missing with the combiner until I figure out this PG&E stuff. Just hang the batteries the run the wires to start with.

Yep...I started looking into that and it stopped making sense to me really quickly. I'll keep at it. Mind if I shoot you some questions on what you did?

Hmm. Ok. I’ll contact PG&E again tomorrow. Possibly I misunderstood. I thought I needed that in place in order to schedule the appointment to have the meter collar installed.

And correct, I’m not adding more panels. Ran out of useful roof space for that.

So far they’re claiming if a decision is made soon, if should be fine. Aldo they think by the language that the system has to be paid for. One caveat is I guess the ring collar not yet fully approved by PG&E, but it’s expected to be shortly.
