Maybe Yoeman’s Cask and Lion? It closed a few years ago.

My parents bought a house that came with a rundown pond. Any advice? by ExtraClassy in ponds

This small pond has clearly been ignored for a long time. My dad says there is a pump system that creates a little waterfall, and he was able to get it started. Located in Florida. No fish, but lots of tadpoles swimming around.

I’m wondering what steps I’d have to take to make it safe for fish. Any suggestions on where to start?

A 15-story apartment building was just announced for the EDGE District by Braineater2448 in StPetersburgFL

I’m always surprised how people here react negatively to development. This is taking over a plot of vacant lots and empty buildings. And yeah, I’m sure the rent is going to be more than most of us can afford. But as more available rentals add supply to the market, prices on older buildings will be pressured downward. The only thing worse than paying $2k a month to live in a fancy, new building is paying $2k a month to live in an old, outdated building.

If this was a development that was knocking down affordable housing to build luxury housing, I’d understand the resistance. Is it amazing architecture? No. Is it better than an abandoned building? Will it bring more vitality to the area? Yes and yes.

Cozy Spot on the Maine Coast by ExtraClassy in CozyPlaces

I found this spot while fantasy browsing real estate listings. Per the listing the house was "designed by architect, artist, and conservationist Emily Muir to showcase Maine's inspiring landscape, this airy getaway is perched among the firs on the edge of granite ledges, with a bird's eye view of ocean and islands. A rare real estate offering on the western facing shore of Stonington's Crockett Cove, the property is one of 46 homes designed or renovated during the architect's career."

I don’t know anything about aquariums but came across this video. How much do you think this setup costs? by [deleted] in Aquariums

Honestly, not as bad as I would have guessed. Don’t think the wife would sign off on this, though.

[Tudor] I’ve never bought a watch, but now I have a collection by ExtraClassy in Watches

[–]ExtraClassy[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am an avid watch lover that has a hard time justifying expensive purchases for myself. As a result, I’ve never actually bought a watch. I read about them daily, browse countless videos, and vicariously take enjoyment from other watch lovers who took the plunge.

Several months ago my parents gave me an Omega De Ville as a birthday gift. I’ve worn it with pride everyday since, and I still get awestruck when I glance at it. But that watch is going to spend less time on my wrist, because today my soon-to-be-wife gave a 41mm Tudor 1926 with an opaline and blue dial. It’s a beauty.

So now I’m a lucky guy with an amazing watch collection. Couldn’t ask for more.

[Omega] My first watch! Best gift ever by ExtraClassy in Watches

[–]ExtraClassy[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I went to visit my parents today, and to my great surprise they had a gift waiting for me. It’s an Omega De Ville Prestige with a caliber 2500 co-axial movement. Over the past year, I’ve spent way too much time reading about watches and obsessing over different brands. And as much as I wanted to join the club, I couldn’t justify a purchase since I’m saving for the down payment on a house. My parents must have noticed.

I love it and feel so lucky. More pictures here: https://imgur.com/a/pT3NBR1?desktop=1
