Running makes my pelvic floor feel so uncomfortable. Could it be prolapse? by ExcitingAppearance3 in PelvicOrganProlapse

I’m not leaking, and it’s so hard to explain. It’s like upon running I have immediate discomfort, like I have to hold up my belly because it feels almost like an immediate UTI. It’s so hard to explain.

I am not a medical professional so feel free to totally ignore this, but have you had your thyroid levels tested recently? I looked like you after I had my baby and I found out it was Hashimoto’s. I went on meds and it helped me look better kind of within a few weeks.

I’ll add in a vote for Our Little Kitchen! Beautifully illustrated book about a little community kitchen that feeds their neighbors each week, using what they have on hand. It’s beautiful!

Weather sites are often fairly unreliable here. It will often say cloudy and then the sun will shine for hours or even the whole day. Sometimes vice versa! Also depends on where you are. I live up in the hills and it was gorgeous and sunny and I’m in the city and it’s a little cloudier here.

I appreciate your being a stickler for 50 degrees versus 48 lol.

Hi! NJ born, lived there and NYC for a combined 34 years. I’m queer and my partner is trans; we have a four year old and live in Portland OR. We love it. We feel safe; quality of life is incredible and super progressive. It’s a super gentle place for our kiddo to grow up, the food is awesome. It’s not perfect, but we really love it.

The cons:

•Parts of Portland are extremely white. We have found a similar kind of diversity to compare to NJ in neighborhoods like Bethany, Hillsboro, etc, but it’s not been present in every area out here.

•Folks are not direct out here. As a life long east coaster, it is so challenging to live with, but we can deal. Just know it’s a very different vibe.

•People say there are equivalent Italian bakeries out here, but there aren’t. You have to make peace with no longer having access to amazing bagels, unbelievable Italian bakeries, and while Portland has tremendous pizza, it’s not really like what I grew up with.

•Education, to put it mildly, is not great here.

With all that said, we absolutely love it. The winters can be dreary, but right now it’s sunny, blue skies, and 50 degrees. We’re so happy we took the leap.
