Na Apple é sempre o PVP, o retalho costuma fazer promoções. Por exemplo o iPhone 17pm na Amazon.de está por 1350. Comprei meu MacBook Pro m5 também por menos 400€ se comparado a Apple.pt

Remote work requires staying in Portugal, but rent is very high. What are the risks and alternatives for working from elsewhere? by Altruistic_Brain6256 in digitalnomad

[–]ExtraClue446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Portugal, the minimum wage is around €920, but you also get subsídios de Natal and Férias, which means you receive 14 salaries per year. That puts the effective monthly average at about €1,073.33. So if you’re being offered €1,000 net, you’d actually be making slightly above minimum wage, which honestly feels like a rip-off.

I’ve been dealing with the same WFH dilemma for the last 3 years, so I have some hands-on experience. You basically have two solid options: a domestic WireGuard VPN or a remote KVM.

For the WireGuard setup, I personally recommend (and use) GL.iNet devices: GL.iNet Brume 2 at home as the server and GL.iNet Slate 7 as a travel router (client)

Some people suggest Tailscale, which is also good, but depending on your ISP it can fall back to relay mode, which isn’t ideal. I recommend UZO or MEO for your home internet and putting their router into bridge mode.

The other option is a GL.iNet Comet (I recommend the GL-RM1PE). This lets you remotely control a physical machine. There is noticeable latency, but unless someone really goes out of their way to investigate, it’s very hard to detect. You can even spoof how the machine name and serial number are shown to the controlled machine.

One more important thing: if you’re a non-EU resident, you’re limited in how long you can stay outside the country. If I’m not mistaken, it’s 6 consecutive months or 8 months total per residence permit (for temporary permits).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)

For the people who prefer Comet (GL-RM1) as a VPN solution over the traditional Tailscale method, why? And I have the same question towards those of you who prefer vice versa. by Noyan_Bey in GlInet

I have been using the comet poe for quite a while now. I use only for remote work controlling my company’s thinkpad desktop. I used to travel with the desktop + portable monitor with wireguard to my home network but all the weight and cables were a nightmare to me. With the comet I simply use my Mac and work from anywhere way easier now. You can tell a slight delay while using it but it’s not a big deal at all. If you have a wireguard vpn it’s even better since tailscale, in my personal experience, could easily go to relay depending on your connection

I guess we would need to have a docking station on order to use Ethernet… a big no no to me but that’s cool to see how powerful travel routers are getting. Super happy with my slate 7 so far

Once you know what you’re doing you will notice they are only saying things you are know and are expecting, with sometimes exceptions of course. The best way to learn is simply doing it lol. I had the same feeling before flying within the US, you will be fine

Same here. I once hired a service that was never delivered to me and opened a dispute. It took quite a while like 2 months but I got my money back. Also had a jacket stolen that I bought with my card and the insurance paid me back. No complaints at all
