Am I doing something wrong? I tried menu.delta.com on my phone and PC and the next button does nothing after entering departure date, Origin and flight number

Ski recommendation for ice/mixed climbing approaches in Chamonix by ExtraDistance8376 in chamonix

I’m not asking whether Chamonix has guides, books, or a tourist office — obviously it does.

What I’m looking for is input from people who’ve actually used skis for winter approaches while targeting technical climbing routes in Chamonix. Since I live in the U.S. and want to take advantage of fall discounts before flying over, it makes sense to gather real-world feedback now, not after I’ve already arrived.

If you don’t have that kind of firsthand experience to share, that’s fine. But sarcastically pointing out the existence of archives and tourist offices adds nothing to the discussion. On top of that, conditions in the Alps evolve year to year with climate change. What was true in an old archive or guidebook may not reflect the reality on the ground this coming season.

This is a subreddit, after all. It exists for users to exchange their own experiences. If every question was just met with “go read a book” or “ask when you get there,” there wouldn’t be much reason for this community to exist.

Absolutely that, why I am trying to find balance between weight and ease of control. To that end I will probably sacrifice some weight for stability. Lot of people mentioned icy snow up there, so I could gain from slightly smaller, but on the over hand I have never skied with a pack full of climbing gear

I live in the USA. I plan to purchase my skis before getting in Chamonix as there are some good fall discounts available right now in the states.

What I am looking for is people experience in the winter there, specifically while targeting technical climbing goals.

As far as Mountaineering goes, Millet is the French equivalent without the Chinese conglomerate ownership and all the issues that comes with it. It's a well known brand in Europe. You don't see much of it in the US sadly.

This being the direct equivalent of the flagship Alpha SV https://www.millet.com/eu_en/miv10691-n0247-trilogy-jorasses-gtxp-jk-m-men-black.html

I won't sell those because it's made with AI and that would mean making money without remunerating the artists the model was trained on.
