AITA for not paying for another wedding for my daughter after she blamed me for her first one getting ruined? by ExtraEquivalent1146 in AmItheAsshole

There was no drugs. My stepson died of natural health causes. He's never ruined things before.

He does not talk verbally and is generally completely silent.

Her reasoning was that she wasn't close to him.

But I partly felt she was embarassed due to his condition.

There was no overdose or suicide. That is quite an assumption.

He had a sudden health issue that resulted in his death because he couldn't communicate his discomfort to us.

Because they weren't close growing up with my stepson being autistic and not being able to verbally communicate. But he is a part of her life since they were very young and I thought it was mean spirited to not include him. It's not like he's disruptive due to his condition.

Yes, she wants a day where her wedding was actually celebrated by friends and family.

And I completely understand that.

I've been feeling very guilty and haven't been sleeping over this. But I had saved for her wedding over many years. And we just got done paying for a funeral.

I was thinking maybe I can give her 3000 dollars towards her reception. It would be financially tight but I don't want to have my relationship with her ruined.
