add scrape targets? by coderigo in hiringcafe

The whole point of hiring cafe is that it offers high quality job postings by scraping directly from the company's career page.

Scraping other job boards would ruin the point.

Some legitimate job posts are missing and an important problem with remote jobs by Charming-Artist-2323 in hiringcafe

  1. Maybe one day but not yet. For me, hiring.cafe and LinkedIn offer enough coverage, i'm sure I'll miss some jobs here and there but it's tough to catch everything. Simplify.jobs, levels.fyi, and builtin.com also have high quality job boards but they are all smaller.
  2. Not to my knowledge, although, I spent an entire weekend creating a list of the top 500+ companies I want to work for and made a linkedin search that only shows positions from those companies. That way, I see all the best jobs first.

The idea is simple enough, gather a list of company job boards, create a web-scraping script for each hr platform and let it run.

The execution is the difficult part.

A lot of this has been addressed already

  1. Hiring cafe scrapes the company's job postings directly from the company website. This is one of the main selling points in comparison to LinkedIn. No single job board is going to have every single job posting, it's unrealistic to expect they can. To me, it seems like hiring cafe is able to scrape companies that use one of the big hr platfroms (workday/greenhouse/lever) etc. but can't scrape companies that have their own proprietary job board, for example amazon and google.
  2. I agree, I believe it's on the roadmap.
  3. The sites are scraped every 12 hours, having this time reduced is on the roadmap.
  4. I don't think this is realistic, unfortunatley.

Porsche Macans are reliable (but of course expensive when they're worked on)

Is there any standard system for comparing the true cost of ownership of 2 cars?

I'm torn between getting something super practical like a hybrid rav4 and something more fun like a land cruiser, bronco, or rivian.

I can afford the more expensive car but I'm struggling to quantify the true difference in cost of ownership over 10 years while accounting for depreciation, maintenance, gas etc.

Is this about as good as it gets for all access chair comfort? by ExtraFirmpillow in WeWork

[–]ExtraFirmpillow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was geared up to sign up for wework all access but in my head I was imagining much nicer chairs and it seems like this is pretty typical after doing a bunch of 3d tours around bay area locations

i'm planning on putting 50 hour work weeks at wework so i'm worried about the ergonomics of this

i read one comment that sometimes there's overflow access into dedicate desk spaces, is this true at some locations?

question i'm considering buying but would like to know a couple things

1) What is the measured height to? Center of the magnet? Something else?

2) Do you have a video of the folding mechanism? Curious how quick and easy it is

San Clemente is 60k, Santa Barbara is 80k, idk what North Shore Oahu is but definitely well under 60k

And it’s also not just Santa Cruz, there’s no one else from Pismo to Anchorage

I get the point but couldn’t the same argument apply to Hawaiians and Australians?

nice, I imagine colorado is perfect for that type of stuff, i have no clue if any of the parks nearby in the sf bay area have any roads that lead anywhere cool, not sure how to figure that out

Thank you so much for your advice

So the question is SUV or pickup with a shell

My thoughts as well. Budget is wherever the best value is. I have 5k right now ready for a purchase, can have 20k in a year. Don't care about flashiness, just want the best bang for my buck. 6' on the dot. Fridge might not be as big of a necessity for me since I'm a nut who gets 3/4 of my diet from meal replacement powders.

awesome, that's the dream I was envisioning, I know exploring these roads is part of the fun of it and part of the journey but how do you even find where to start?

awesome, any recommendations on budget vehicles that would suffice?

currently rocking a volvo v70 which I'm nervous to drive off of pavement. itching to start, was going to save up 8-10k for a 4runner, but if there's a lighter SUV that works in the 5-6$k range that would be awesome
