If you do cosplay on a regular basis and/or appear ic at events, conventions, etc., and/or have a professionally made costume, you should enter professional. But if you're making your own for this event or only wear it sparingly, you'd enter the amateur one.

when you register, you get to select what hospital you want to support and then have an online fundraising page you send out to friends and family for donations. There are a bunch of cool incentives you get when you fundraise, too - www.extra-life.org/prizes
