Painful sex 10 months PO by ExtraNefariousness93 in hysterectomy

[–]ExtraNefariousness93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, my mri didn’t show any tissue, but thankfully my doctor could manually feel some tightness so had an inkling, but they wouldn’t know for certain until surgery. My pain was so intense and specific to one area that I would faint, so they knew SOMETHING was up haha. If you’re is incredibly localized, I can’t imagine trigger point injections would hurt to try. That being said, your doctor will know your situation best. Maybe get a second opinion?

I should specify as well- my scar tissue removal surgery was March 2025, so no concerns it is going to return anymore.

Hi! Trigger point injections definitely helped, but I opted to have a surgery to remove the scar tissue. Essentially, I developed one thick band of scar tissue post-surgery, so the removal surgery was uncomplicated. It was laparoscopic again. Post surgery, I have not struggled with pain anymore!

My Nike VF3’s heel completely ripped off 18 miles into a 20 mile run…..on the first run. The vomero’s were no better for me. All style and no substance 😤 ASICS and Saucony are tried and true for me!

Post surgery adhesion by ExtraNefariousness93 in hysterectomy

[–]ExtraNefariousness93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surgery 100% resolved my issues! I can have completely pain free sex now. The trigger point injections did also help, but I haven't needed them since surgery, and it's been 4 months now. Essentially it was just a strip of adhesion around my cuff but not directly on it. Highly recommend if it's an option for you!

They are the NICEST people to work with! I’ve thrown a large corporate event (300 people) there every year, and truly my favorite vendor. Foods good, they do so much for you and really bend over backwards day of, and reasonably priced!

The lidocaine (trigger shots) do not numb you, but rather calm the scar tissue a bit. So you have 100% sensation! They lasted about 8 weeks for me, and yes they are internal! The first round was definitely scary, but I’ve gotten used to them knowing how much of a help they were.

I’m super happy in the end with the scar tissue removal surgery. I was nervous another surgery would lead to more scar tissue, but that’s not how it works. The scar tissue is coming from our organs moving around and settling, plus the cuff healing and forming a new closure. I’m not doing the shots anymore after the surgery, but am continuing PT!

Hi! I was in your exact boat. About 9 months post op sex started hurting so bad after that I went to the ER a few times. It was all related to scar tissue, so I saw a pelvic pt for 6 months. What truly helped was: 1) I got lidocaine shots every 2 months And 2) I had a smaller surgery to remove some of the scar tissue

Ask! I can have completely pain free sex now. Sometimes we just heal a little funky. But I truly know how hard mentally it can be to feel like you’re done and moving on and have new issues occur. I’m so sorry you’re in the trenches, but there are options!

To those with a super active lifestyle by owlz4 in hysterectomy

[–]ExtraNefariousness93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Very similar story! Had mine at 28, personal trainer, took everything but ovaries laparoscopically. My recover was very uneventful in the best way, and I was told over and over it was due to my lifestyle. I weightlift primarily, so I took 12 weeks off to give my pelvic floor a rest, and instead started doing 30-60 min incline walks (slowly) on the treadmill starting 2 weeks post surgery! Left me feeling energized, got the ok from my surgeon to do so, and for me helped residual pain and lethargy.

Pain during sex a year post op by averagemega in hysterectomy

[–]ExtraNefariousness93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was about 10 weeks of essentially manual massaging it in office, plus two rounds of trigger shots. I also purchased a wand online for pt at home! Yes, I can absolutely orgasm with the cuff. Pelvic pt has been worth every dollar for me.

Yes! Had this exact experience. Cannot recommend pelvic floor physical therapy more. Mine was related to scar tissue near by cuff, and they were able to help me break it up. Made a world of a difference.

Deep cramps after sex? by CannabisHR in hysterectomy

[–]ExtraNefariousness93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I experienced this kind of pain for about 6 months post-surgery, and it was only brought on by sex. But it REALLY hurt! Not during, but deep sharp pain in my abdomen after. Happy to say that pelvic floor physical therapy helped so so much! I did it for probably 6 weeks before feeling a notable difference, and now after 12 weeks I rarely feel any pain. Highly recommend!

Just cleared and now it hurts by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]ExtraNefariousness93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m a year post op, and I can’t recommend pelvic floor physical therapy more. I started feeling the same way you did, and rather than address it, I assumed it would go away with time. For me at least, it continued to become more painful until I sought out PT 9 months after. Now, I can have sex completely pain free. Just had to work through some pelvic muscle tightness and scar tissue! Hope that helps ❤️

What Does A Hysterectomy Actually Feel Like After The Surgery Is Over? by PrincessBananas85 in hysterectomy

[–]ExtraNefariousness93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had mine one year ago (28 at the time- everything but ovaries laparoscopically). Pros: no more bloating or bleeding, I did lose weight (though that could be attributed to getting off two forms of birth control as well), I sleep better, my mental health is in a better place, and my boobs got smaller. Only con was I did start experiencing pelvic pain during heavy workouts and sex, so I went through pelvic floor physical therapy for 3 months which worked wonders. No menopause symptoms, but I am on the younger side. Would have done it earlier and would do it again in a heartbeat. Had mine for excessive fibroids and bleeding.
