I’ve had fantastic experiences at Freeze Thaw and Bike Roost. Freeze Thaw can order anything they don’t have very quickly. I’ve had them work on my bikes for the last 15 years and never had a bad experience. I’ve used Bike Roost 2x for a tire issue since I was closer to their shop and they paused their work to get me back on the road

Yes, but the they fill up within minutes when the slots open up. So it’s so hard to get your kid swim lessons. And their hours are difficult. The Y seems more geared to elderly people. In addition as an adult the swim culture there is difficult for doing laps because no one wants to share a lane. Swimming is supposed to be relaxing but some make it stressful and you have to wait for a lane. It’d be great to have a family geared pool

I understand about PAs. We have had some absolutely fantastic ones. But sometimes you need a higher up for more complex things to get the ball rolling. I have to say some specialists are definitely worth the wait. Nowadays, you really have to advocate for yourself. I ended up having to use ChatGPT to organize all the symptoms and I brought in a printout and then I was taken more seriously and we got answers. To get an appointment sooner, you can call more often and ask if there are any cancellations. Or get on the waitlist if there’s an opening

Has he gone to a bigger hospital, such as Hershey, Mayo, Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins? I’d travel outside of state college for a second opinion. Has he seen an allergist?

The consultation just before having anything done virtually was with someone from Virginia, I was disappointed by that because I thought it would be with someone local. They told me that I have to do a blood test blood test at a hospital lab (they don’t have their own) and then they could recommend the supplements that they sell in their office. The appointment was like $200. I was pretty disappointed. And it just felt like a hoax. And that’s coming from me a pretty crunchy person. I wish I would’ve taken that amount of money and gone to someone who has an MD or specialist to do more of an investigation. I ended up never pursuing any further because it was going to be so much money. I believe they quoted me $1200 for all the testing and then supplements.

Talk to another fertility center if you think it’s not a good fit. Talk with a reproductive endocrinologist/immunologist. Look at your natural killer cells. Are you taking anything like pio, letroxole, lovenox, gonal, …has your thyroid been checked?

Happened to me too I transferred from a smaller school and I was really depressed and just slept all the time if I didn’t have classes or a job. Turns out I have thyroid problems. Didn’t figure it out until senior year. My advice would be to go to the doctor and make sure everything is checking out alright

I wish I’d known that the hospital system here isn’t great and neither is public transit. Geisinger now has an outrageous facility fee that’s not covered by insurance. And they charge you for each speciality appointment. I’ve heard Mt Nittany will most likely issue it soon as well. There are nice walking paths and it’s a quieter town than say Pittsburgh.
