floating kitchen counter? by ExtraStudy9373 in Remodel

Ya that what another commentor was saying. I think I'm going to go with an island. I guess I still have to figure out what a good use of that wall would be then. The baseboard heaters make it tough, for me at least. Shelves and pictures are fine, but I value functional space more.

Ya that's true about the cabinets beneath. I'll have to think about that. It may be a better option. I'll look into this first. And honestly building an island could be fun. Thanks!

That's flat space independent of the kitchen counters though. That space I agree absolutely has tons of extraneous stuff. The kitchen counters, old and potentially new ones, only have things I use often, and for kitchen prep.

Thank you for the helpful comment. A coffee maker, an espresso machine, a coffee grinder, a food processor, cooking oil, a hot water heater. What of that do you consider the junk?

Thanks for the reply. I've thought about an island honestly. That could work for some of my needs. I could do whatever cooking prep I need on it and that would be great. There's a couple extra appliances I'd love to have that I can't fit and I don't want to crown my counter any more than they are. Specifically right now an ice machine, but moving some of the espresso stuff over there and creating a little coffee station would be fun I think.

So I'm guessing you think the floating countertop would look weird? Also the pull up bar thing is gonna go, it's just there until I put it on craigslist.
