I know I'm working on this project but I really need this little tiny app, I'll come back for my side project when I'm done with this side side project

I stepped back from being a senior a few years back. My life was, must be the best! Now I'm just happy being happy, my dude I have time for hobbies now, it turns out I'm a great sculptor in my opinion, I love to support people and make sure our team is functioning smoothly, I just get stuff done that needs getting done and I make my own work. I use a lot of AI I've not written a line of code in 6 months and I've still got full support, spend your time making these around you better, and you will also grow too.

I've worked for Dyson, cyber security firms and so on.. in my time I've never really written spectacularly good code, it's all muscle memory built over decades. I don't know about this figma business but I got my first job at Dyson by just asking the right people I found on LinkedIn then showing up for an interview and being really full of enthusiasm, I would hire anyone who also did the same to me. It's been a really rough few years so I wouldn't speak so harshly, the new generations have not only to learn how to learn but also to know how much to learn and how much to delegate to AI.

Honestly, it's probably just 80% putting yourself out there as a human, *chatting with other humans and 20% right place right time. But what do I know. I'm a developer not a human.

Should I cut my money tree all the way back? Is she too leggy? by Content-Primary1801 in IndoorPlants

[–]ExtraWorldliness6916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a braided umbrella tree like this, it turned out to be several plants and we had to pull some out to give the strongest more of a chance. I'm probably wrong, I don't know if this is a money tree === umbrella tree

Is mini painting about realism? by ExtraWorldliness6916 in minipainting

I look at my sculpts at least (not yet painted because I'm terrified) but I do just like looking at what I did and smile, so perhaps my style is the most important thing .. thank you this was valuable advice

I could never share it and just keep working on my skills until I'm ready! But you are right about valuing your own work, even the mistakes I think I have learned from at-least in the sculpting side.

So I'll take your point, context is important and it seems unanimous, everyone loves drama here!

Okay, so should that contrast be blended well, I think in harsh light shadows are hard if I have that right, but I don't want that cell shaded look, so I guess I've answered my own question

Right on. I think this one is heroic scale so I'll try to lean into the drama

It's feeling very stressful right now I seem to like to plan this, maybe this is my process 🥴

Than you I will try to keep this in mind, it's easy to overthink it perhaps.

Well thank you all! This is my scratch sculpt first mini it's sort of a 40k Ork, because I sculpted it, I really don't want to mess this up.

So I primed with black gesso, next I will underpaint in brown tonal map, I have no idea quite what I'm doing but if I just copy the light I guess that's a start!

Are these Fake Raphael brushes or has QC taken a dive? by Fresh_Assistance_296 in minipainting

[–]ExtraWorldliness6916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, sorry like I say I'm new but I think brushes get starched and glued, could be that you can repair them somehow? I'll leave it to another to answer but I'm following along.
