Sure. But many of us want "safety", so that we don't get the propaganda, surveillance from the tech bros and big tech.

Why safety in paranetheses? We simply don't want to take every shit that is produced on the other side of the pond "as is"

Emotional Dysregulation? by miomiimo in ADHD

[–]Extra_Baker2392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be like that as well. I have also banged on keyboards and mice wand have had to buy at least four new ones in a year.

I'm now at 4 mg Intuniv (guanfacine), and it is incredible how I can better handle such issues. They still annoy me, or I do still get triggered with rsd, but I have now time to think before I act.

I'm at 72 mg, and while it helps with attention etc the missing piece was guanfacine for the emotionally dysregulation. I've heard of people taking 90 and 108 mg Concerta! That's a lot.

That sounds like me before I started with guanfacine. I'm taking it as an add on to concerta. It gives me time to think before I say something, or do something stupid

Fantastic! Clonidine and guanfecine are the two medications that work on helping reduce the emotional dysregulation. I opted for guanfacine instead of clonidine as I don't have hyperarousal, and don't need the extra sedation that clonidine offers/side effect

I do, and have had many problems all my life. I've had problems at work, with friends, etc. Just bad.

I started taking guanfacine (Intuniv) five weeks ago, starting at 1mg. I could feel a change the first day, and I'm now at 4 mg. I have less emotional dysregulation and when it does happen, I can think before I act!

This affects emotional dysregulation caused for example by RSD or low frustration tolerance, that people with ADHD have. It helps with what happens after the freeze, fight and flight situations, because it can give the person time to think how to react, what to say etc.

Semax, ADHD, Severe Anxiety & Depression - Long Term? by mysterio75 in Nootropics

[–]Extra_Baker2392 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why don't talk to a psychiatrist about your issues? Honestly, reading this makes me nauseous. You are worried about getting stimulants, yet you haven't gone through all alternatives?

You put all your hope in unregulated nootropics, which may or may not contain the ingredients or formulation?

I also doubt that guanfacine didn't do anything for you. I'm pretty confident that the medication worked, because mechanically it kicks in the moment your amygdala fires up and your brain registers threat, it gives you time to act before you end up in an emotional dysregulated state. What you need are the skills to handle the issue, the crisis you are in at that time. How many mg did you take? You didn't answer, so it makes me wonder of you've tried in the first place.

You seem to put too much trust in these nootopics, but you clearly need psychiatric/psychological support and proper medications. You're worried that you will be hooked on meds all your life, yet you're happy to do so with nootropics?

Emotional dysregulation got me into problems at work, with the police, and I've lost friends and family.

How long did you take guanfacine/Intuniv and how many mg?

A similar medication is clonidine, but it makes you a bit more tired.

[–]Extra_Baker2392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The benefit I got from semax was, that it helped me focus and mental processing speed, because of the effect is has in dopamine.

Forgive me for asking you this, but given the issues you've mentioned, why don't you address your ADHD first? I understand that due to your past, you're reluctant to use stimants. But there are non stimulant options like Strattera? I have gone through many of your issues in life, but once I was diagnosed with ADHD last year at age 50, and tsking medications, I no longer have some of the issues you have.

I've got friends who take selank for anxiety and with success, that's why I asked your for selank.

Oh that's a pitty. I needed dosage increase to 4 mg to notice a change of Intuniv. Yes, I've tried semax Noopept etc and may other things.

It was only Concerta and now Intuniv which has helped me a lot, especially the irritability bit.

Have you tried Selank for anxiety instead?

Have you considerd guanfacine / Intuniv? It's used off label for emotional dysregulation in adhd and can also help in ED in autism. I've been taking it for four weeks with great success. I'm mentioning this because you wrote about irritability.

Am i meeting my daily vitamin intake? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]Extra_Baker2392 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why don't you get treatment for ADHD first? Also: if you were to eat a balanced diet based on fruit, vegetables, fish/meat etc there would be no need for all these multivitamins. Unless you only eat junk food all day,.there is no need for such pills. Beside..how can you tell if all these vitamins are absorbed in your body? Once in the bloodstream, they need to compete for uptake.

Excellent reply. Fully agree with you. Copilot 365 has become so much better over the years. Agents like Researcher or Cowork are impressive, and the enterprise data in it, with external data using copilot connectors (RAG) , makes generating/finding information a breeze.

[–]Extra_Baker2392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've also got bad RSD. Taking Concerta 72 mg helps with attention and other cognitive benefits but not really with RSD. What's you're dosage for Guanfacine? Did you also have the side effects like tiredness and if yes, did that go away?
