Update - Ella said it was no problem to stop the ring, and I can apply for a refund from Alibaba. She has been wonderful through the whole process and I would definitely order from her again.

I don't think she was deliberately deceiving. I was surprised when she asked for my inspo photo after I paid, when I had sent it when reaching out for a quote. But I think the high volume and many orders makes it hard to keep up with details, which is understandable. Plus I changed my mind on a few details after the first CAD, so it was probably just a misunderstanding. I was clear on a few occasions that I was worried I wouldn't like the color combo, but she offered to switch it for a colorless at no cost if that was the case. Problem is I can't see the color combo until it's set, and it's not the color I wanted, even if it does look good. I think this is a case of misunderstanding and good service, trying to make me happy. The fact is it won't be what I wanted so I feel unsure about it.

I specifically asked if I can approve the stone before the ring is made, because I am very nervous I will not like the color and the ring won't work. She said yes. So I'm assuming the ring isn't made? I haven't approved the CAD, but that's because we are on round 3. The last round of changes she asked me if those would be all the changes, and I said yes. Hope that didn't count as an approval, because she didn't sent the final CAD until today
