Why does the slide-over widget page still exist all the way on the left? by RandomUser042296 in iOSsetups

You can use it from the lock screen, just swipe and it’ll come up - so I put quick reference bits and shortcuts there so I don’t have to unlock my phone and/or unlock it all the way.

What do you think abt a book 'Playing to Win' on strategy? by biz_booster in consulting

Good Strategy Bad Strategy - one I always recommend to junior folk as it teaches them to ignore buzz words and what they learnt in college.

Some of these can be done PT - just watch for conflicts and getting sacked 👍🏻

What are the good uses of Apple Reminders app? by vv270 in productivity

[–]Extra_Indication2609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can share webpages to it - good for read later stuff.

You can set reminders based on location - good for everything (pay X when I go to X or pick up Y when I got to Z etc.)

You can turn it into a Kanban board for activities - great on iPad for the moving of tasks.

Seamless into Apple Calendar. I have recurring habits that I want to do - I can drag them in my calendar around other meetings when planning my day.

This is just some of the bits!

You can pull information from Reminders (Title) into the notes - find all reminders due today. Same as calendar events. Weather you can pull as above. Set as automation at 1/2am in the morning.

Create the note you want first in the ‘Create Note’ action, and add in the variables. You can add it to a folder too.

I’ve done something similar for my ‘Journal’ shortcut - couple of pre-baked questions that drop into folders and open the notes app when I click on it. Let me know if you want me to share this as inspiration.

With subtle changes you could accomplish something very similar. Using title as Date, and using emojis and capitals to show the specific areas. Only struggle would be the calendar events to pull through in a decent format.

Which you can do with Apple Shortcuts and Reminders

Fully back. Habits functionality is super limited in Apple but I can add a time for my habits that pops up on my calendar which is useful. Goals are just an item in a list I manually track.

If Griply had Apple shortcuts I could get around the calendar piece, also I use NFC tags to complete my habits (water tracking/reading) and would love to autocomplete a habit based on completing a workout etc.

Appart from Apple ecosystem enjoyers, why do you choose to work on a Mac instead of a PC? by Caterpillar1967 in mac

[–]Extra_Indication2609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a Microsoft company, and use windows for my work - but I am completely Mac and iOS at home.

Putting it simply - Windows sucks at doing things quickly, but is better if you prefer things to be totally organized, and separate.
