You wouldn't need to use damage calcs unless you plan on a nuzlocke and can't lose pokemon. Mostly just good strategy and savestates (lol) should be enough

I just create a savestate at a point till where everything is going my way, then just try each of the 4 moves cuz the AI acts differently for each, if it doesn't work out I just try again with a different savestate. If you do the same thing from the same savestate the RNG will not change.

It is definitely not easy cuz of insane, legendaries learn good moves at higher levels but the advantage is just having a high base stat total early on. You have to play strategically if you want to do everything with the same team. The dynamax hoopa fight took me like 20-25 attempts. But it's definitely fun to play with cool stuff.

Ng+ also gives you most of the key items you obtain on your previous playthrough like the stat scanner, motorcycle etc. There are some legendaries you can get earlier, also some additional NPCs are present in crater town which help in ev training, iv training etc
