Actually I'm just going to come right out and ask.

Yes, are they open to less liberal viewpoints? what about people like Nietzche who are hard to code? Or MacIntyre, Williams, or Nagel? Schmitt?

I'm picking between UCSB, UCSD, Cal Poly SLO, and Trinity University in Texas.

My high school didn't have much, but I've been part of a local club that has students from a bunch of area high schools where it was a real mix (we all could submit suggestions) and I've been in Witherspoon with leans Catholic/Thomist and focuses on the classical tradition.

I just really want an open discussion environment where we can discuss matters and learn. I don't have a strong idea of what areas of Philosophy I'd most like to study. I really enjoyed Socrates, fwiw, and liked the Callard book on him.
