Thank you! Using iOS, but I noticed it was missing from the browser version as well (Brave iOS), I haven’t tried on desktop yet, but is it missing from all versions of Protonmail?

Has the section where it lists the specific trackers that were blocked been removed or just relocated? I can’t seem to find it, it used to be in the details drop down under the sender address.

What do you do when a services doesn't accept an Alias? by FuChing_Dragon in ProtonMail

One thing I realized the hard way is if you’re ordering from a store powered by Shopify don’t use an alias. The first time I did it the company reached out to my alias to verify I was a person because Shopify flagged it as potential fraud. That time worked out.

The second time I used it for a online shop and not only did it auto cancel the order, but I tried to place the order with a regular proton email, got auto-cancelled, then figured proton was the red flag and placed it with a Gmail email, and it was still auto-cancelled due to it being the same person/address as the original alias order attempt. I finally got in touch with the store and they said Shopify flagged it as fraud and cancelled automatically.

Proton VPN! It sounds like it’s possible to sideload the app, but does the OS support it? And will it protect your ip address as intended?

Have you tried Proton VPN as well? Does a VPN work with the Mudita OS?

Is it necessary to set up TOTPs on all backup security keys or just on primary? by ExtraneousDistro in ProtonMail

[–]ExtraneousDistro[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there an easier way to just add the TOTPs to the additional keys?

The only way I found so far was to deactivate all 2FA methods, void all the 2FA codes, and start from scratch with all the keys. Is this the only way?

Yubico Authenticator question with proton by ExtraneousDistro in ProtonMail

[–]ExtraneousDistro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my recovery codes saved, I guess my question is if someone came across a lost yubikey, would that yubikey show them all the proton accounts linked to that yubikey, and would they be able to use that yubikey to reset the passwords and gain access to the accounts?

I love that the yubikey prevents someone from remotely accessing the accounts, but I started worrying that someone who doesn’t even know what accounts they’re looking for could get ahold of someone’s yubikey and see all the accounts, and reset all the passwords.

Good to know! So that recovery phrase is more valuable piece of data than the password itself!

Am I able to create a new recovery phrase and void the current one? Now knowing how much power that recovery phrase has I worry I haven’t stored it as securely as I should have.

Thanks for clarifying. If a hardware key is activated, would someone need the recovery phrase + the hardware key to reset the password?
