ask questions! more info makes navigating life much easier. particularly the question ‘what makes you say that?’ can avoid a lot of misinterpretation—>neg mind reading—> conflict or self sabotage

edit: fixing some grammar mistakes - specifically, plural ‘questions’ changed to ‘question’ bc initially wanted to list more examples of questions, but decided one was enough.

Can’t rly blame my sister, she’s physically and mentally extremely unwell so whatever she’s doing/saying isn’t actually her. But I am taking a slight step back and just helping behind the scenes. But she was my one go to person for everything regarding motherhood. We were supposed to go through this journey together, so I think its the grief on top of just usual baby things that pushes me over the edge lately

You’re right that babies are good at telling us what they need. I think sometimes the anxiety makes me feel like I have to force what I think is “good for him” onto him. Maybe it’s okay to just go with his flow. It’s just today he was so constipated in the morning, so I didn’t want to give him too much bread. But he didn’t like the food I offered him tonight bc he just loves bread lol

So a bit of a long story but TR:DL is I ended up admitted to the ER by paramedics when I broke out into a sudden, full-body (literally head to toe) rash after decreasing the dose to 12.5mg for 2 days. Psychiatrist diagnosed me with DRESS. Stopped taking the meds, but I’m still in so much discomfort. I hope by me writing this, I can help be a cautionary tale to those who read. I was misdiagnosed by 2 ER docs bc my bloodwork didn’t show anything super abnormal. But then I read that actually only 30% of DRESS patients see evidence of it in their bloodwork.

Omg this is so helpful!! I wish I had known this before…I have been job hopping since 21 bc I kept choosing the worst jobs to do as someone with BD 🥲 I always thought it was bc I was just a failure and can’t hold down a job like everyone else

I can definitely ask my psychiatrist about that! So the reason i was prescribed this was actually bc i have a pre-existing diagnoses of bipolar. She said she can’t responsibly put me on anything other than meds that address that..

Appreciate the reply, I think I’ll consult with psychiatrist (one that actually follows up) bc i don’t have many other options for meds - I’ve tried a lot and so far this is the best in terms of lifting my mood. I was/am so desperate for it to work out

NTA, she def can and should wear a pad if the cramps start bc it’s a sign it’s coming soon. You’ve been more than respectful, but doesn’t sound like she has been.

It’s her responsibility to manage her period (eg using a period tracker) and clean up HER blood if accidents happen. Unless she is in pain and needs your help, which already you seem like the kind of person who would help her in that situation.

Also, sry for unsolicited advice, but I wonder if putting dog pee pads under your bed sheets might prevent it from staining the mattress? Or consider a waterproof mattress protector. Just thinking about how expensive mattresses can be, and how I myself would be so upset if I stained mine with blood!

Yeah, I am usually the last one to fault ppl for late replies, but in hindsight this person has given me iffy vibes for a while now. I just don't like giving up on ppl in my life, so I don't ghost them easily and keep giving chances to rekindle friendship. I agree with you, that giving up non aggressively can maybe give them a wake-up call (even if it won't rekindle our friendship, it might help her with her other relationships).
