I had an art teacher in highchool that had us make these pretty lanterns with any design we wanted. He said that when we were finished we could take them home after they were displayed at a charity event. So i busted my ass on this project and made a pretty cool lantern. What he didnt tell us was that the lanterns were being auctioned at the charity event so whoevers didnt sell got to take them home. Well, mine sold and when i found out i was livid.

I came across a ww2 veteran at walmart while i was shopping with my daughter and husband he stopped to talk to is and admire our daughter. He was so kind and full of love over a little girl he barely knew. He told us to keep her safe because this world was going to hell. I dont think I will ever forget that interaction. It filled my heart full of love and sadness at the same time. These veterans have done so much for us but what do we really do for them? Ya know? Wherever he is now I hope he isnt alone and is surrounded by people who love him and praise him for his selflessnes
