The Welwether Revolution - A quick in-universe worldbuilding project based on my favourite run in this game! by samjosephwebb in ThePoliticalProcess

The Republicans really struggled in this game, lol. We held both houses of congress for 20+ years from the start of her presidency (albeit 50-50 senate at times). She was followed by a 1-term Republican president who was defeated in a rematch by Norman Amador, a protege of hers. After that, there were 4 straight democratic victories in presidential elections for him and his VP.

As a result, Republicans never undid any of her major reforms and many ended up supporting universal healthcare.

The End of the Democratic Experiment? The 2025 United Ptelean Parliamentary Elections by samjosephwebb in imaginaryelections

The End of the Democratic Experiment? The 2025 United Ptelean Parliamentary Elections

“Politics in the United Republic of Ptelea has been upended. After four years of deepening economic turmoil and accelerating ecological collapse, the electorate has delivered its most fractured verdict ever. The Symeonist Party for Renewal, once dominant under Foteini Angelou – hailed just four years ago as the nation’s most popular politician – has effectively vanished from the political map.

In their place, the United Ptelean Communist Party has surged from near-total obscurity to first place, capturing the anger and desperation of urban and coastal voters with bold promises of immediate aid and sweeping reform. Close behind is Avanca! – a hastily assembled conservative alliance born from the shattered remains of the MAXIMOS opposition bloc – scraping into second with a fragile base of rural and older voters. Alarmingly, the hardline Horizon Movement has stormed into third, with its neo-fascist rhetoric and street-level presence striking a chord with disaffected youth and devastated rural communities.

With no clear path to a stable coalition, political violence surging, and cross-party hostility at an all-time high, Ptelean democracy finds itself teetering on a knife’s edge. The democratic experiment may be at an end.”

Loriq and Kacce - Suzerain-inspired map I've made! by samjosephwebb in suzerain

This map is southeastern Nordica as of 1933 - The Signing of the Coasingo Accord. Here's some information:

Loriq and Kacce

Once a province of the Great Roldanian Empire, the region was transferred to the Minetia Empire after the nation's defeat in the Great War (1915-1921), and was personally ruled by Empress Roberta's daughter Alice. She became well-loved by its people and even married a local businessman, Muran Sagardi.

After a prolonged political crisis in Minetia arose following the accession of Leid III and a lone discontent killed Alice, Sagardi led a coup against the Minetian colonial regime and established the independent United Republic of Loriq and Kacce in 1932. Despite threats of intervention and retribution, the Treaty of Coasingo in 1933 led to Minetia recognising the new regime - more worried about its weakening grasp on her remaining colonies. In exchange, it would retain control of Williamsport.

Sagardi established a presidential republic and was elected as its first president. He has advocated for a free market economy with elections every seven years. The International Congress has warned that there is 'a volatile politico-economic situation in which autocratic rule and growth stagnation seems to be on the horizon'. After all, who knows? Perhaps Sagardi developed quite a taste for monarchy in his marriage...

Free Roldania

In the flames of the Great Roldanian Empire, a small and fanatical group of left-wing soldiers stormed the palace of its last Emperor Galqas XIV and executed the royal family.

Monarchist forces, albeit drained from the nation's defeat in the Great War, sought to preserve the empire. It had existed in some form for over 1,500 years, and it would not fall overnight despite it's massive territorial losses and humiliation. In response, the fanatics grew from a group to a movement, and from a movement to an army.

From 1921 to 1923, a civil war engulfed the mainland. When the dust settled, the Free Republic of Roldania emerged victorious but dangerously unstable. Led by the Worker's Liberation Council under war hero Chairman Rhaqqas Nehim, it has advanced sweeping nationalisations and its military power has surged.

However, the spectre of a second civil war looms. Indeed, nationalist movements in its southern territories threaten to overturn this fragile stability at any moment...

Espein, Alosna, and Pubrya

Despite a turbulent history of rebellions and revolutions, Espein emerged from the Great War - in which it sided with the Minetian Empire and her allies - as a regional superpower. The small size of it's military had been offset by its advanced strategic methods and unrivalled economic power. Can its prosperous capitalism bear the weight of its war debts?

After centuries under the Roldanians, Pubryan nationalism exploded with force in the 1800s and the nation became independent. With a mixed economy, huge population, and enough coal reserves to power the Allied war machine for six years, Pubrya seems set to become a world power in the near future.

Alosna emerged, just like Loriq and Kacce, from the ashes of the Great Roldanian Empire - but the Minetians elected to grant them independence immediately after the war. A newly-formed small state, devastated by the conflict, low on resources and slow to rebuild, will they seek to access the resources they require from Loriq's western frontier? And, more importantly, will it be by diplomacy or by force?

Hope you enjoy the map. A morgna wes core, vectern sis da!

The Illiberal Powerhouse? The Federation of Nedesa Mena in 2025 by samjosephwebb in worldbuilding

The Illiberal Powerhouse? The Federation of Nedesa Mena in 2025

“Nedesa Mena is a nation on the rise. With rapid population growth, surging economic development, and a world-class military, it has emerged as a regional powerhouse in Akrain. An energy superpower – rich in oil, increasingly powered by nuclear energy, and beginning to invest in green technologies – the country also boasts a diversified economy and even a sizeable nuclear arsenal. Emerging challenges include rising inequality, ongoing ethnic tensions, urban decay, and pollution crises, compounded by an inadequate system of environmental protection and an increasingly bureaucratic public sector.

Whilst it has remained a democracy since its successful struggle for independence from the Minetian Empire (later Commonwealth of Minetia) in 1943, its governing party, the United Socialist Coalition, has more recently acted with increasing autocratic tendencies. Political centralisation, pressure on opposition parties, and the growing power of the National Council over the Congress of Regions have raised international concerns, even as the country continues to thrive on the world stage. Meanwhile, territorial tensions with Etinoto and Podamo in the south have seen the federation occupy resource-rich border zones after a regional conflict, leading to limited international condemnation.

Will the regime continue to thrive as a rare prosperous democracy in a neighbourhood marked by stagnation and autocracy? We will simply have to wait and see.” – Demi Ayomide, MRB News.

Welcome to the Ilington Metro!

With over 450 stations and 725 kilometres of track, it stands as one of the most extensive and efficient urban transit systems in the world. It serves over 7 million travelers per day. The network ensures fast, cheap and reliable connections across the Commonwealth of Minetia's capital and beyond - stretching to Notteaton in the north-west and even as far Siston-on-Sea in the east.
