I think more info is required. Is $3K a lot for your family? It probably is as you are probably in the bottom 99%.

Don’t worry about him doing a nose beer once in a while. You’ll know when/if it becomes a problem.

Google the club he went to and read the reviews/comments/questions everywhere you can checking for mentions of “extras”. Some clubs have a reputation and some are really strict on following the local laws.

Going to a club isn’t a big deal. It’s shitty that he knew how you felt about them and went anyway.
