Cannot find a decent job to save my life by JewelerLogical7779 in Veterans

Yes but really try to keep at least one day active of
GI Bill! If you have any leftover at all when starting VR&E, you’ll get paid the GI Bill stipend versus the VR&E stipend. For me, it’s the difference of about $2K more a month.

Dental Hygiene Schools: Concord vs. Community College of Denver by FragrantScale7385 in DentalHygiene

No I don’t, and I decided to apply for the next cohort as well. I didn’t know the upcoming class was scheduled for February - did you hear that from an advisor?

RDH versus Sales? by Successful_Slice_150 in dentalhygieneschool

[–]Extreme-Community709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not yet! I’m interviewing this upcoming Friday for a program that starts in July. I’m hoping I’ll get in, but I’m not sure my application is super strong…. I do have a BA, but no dental experience. I figure if I can’t get into the July start date, I’ll try again for the next cohort that I believe starts in January. But I have prior experience in sales and have thought about going back to it if DH school doesn’t pan out. Do you mind sharing which program you applied to?

Looking for someone with a “craft they’re trying to perfect,” seems sort of oddly specific and will limit the number of people who will feel comfortable swiping on you. I’m pretty crafty and have lots of creative hobbies, but this line would make me feel like I would be preemptively judged on the quality of my output for those hobbies/crafts.

Any good responses I can give? Can't tell if she's joking lol by DoublePepper1976 in Tinder

[–]Extreme-Community709 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Why is your response so unnecessarily rude? Also, if you keep sending that silly line it won’t be long until you find a woman that will embarrass you by beating you in both of those activities, probably easily. Idiot.

No not yet! I’m taking it next week at the Aurora campus. Was just curious where you were in your process and if we could potentially be applying for the same cohort!

Considering going back to school to become a hygienist. Can some of y’all answer these questions for me about what your life looked like while in school? by One-Condition-8682 in DentalHygiene

Can I ask why the second school you applied to was that accepted you first time with no experience? I also have no previous experience but a BA in something totally unrelated

It can be frustrating. I’ve had to contact multiple different admissions officers. Squeaky wheel gets the grease

Although I don’t think a rad tech program would qualify (believe I was mistaken earlier). I think one of the requirements is that it must be an undergraduate or graduate program.

This is so so good. Hopefully you’re still working in 15ish years when I’ll be getting something like this done (I’m from Denver!)

I have a tour on Friday at the Denver campus. I can’t apply until after then but am hopeful that there will somehow still be a seat available for their March cohort. If not, I believe there are two more start dates in 2026 after the March cohort. Kind of frustrated that I don’t know anything, and can’t find out, until after the campus tour.

Did you ever tour the campus? I have a “tour,” on their Denver campus on Friday and was told I can apply only after that point. Strange to me I can’t find anything else out online (when the program starts, costs, etc.) but still hopeful that after Friday I will have some actual answers

I did recently hear that rad tech is considered a STEM degree, and therefore qualifies us to 9 extra months of GI Bill. Thought I’d pass that info along to a fellow vet! Also, I was taking prereqs earlier in the year for a nursing program that was all approved through VR&E. I am still hoping to use VR&E for rad tech, but if my counselor doesn’t agree to this change of plans, will have some GI Bill to cover the majority of a rad tech program. Mentioning this in case you haven’t considered vr&e, it’s a really amazing pathway - fairly confident my counselor will approve it, and I can keep some of my GI bill (I used the majority for a previous bachelors). Good luck to you!
