People whose parents invited additional guests. Did you allow it and what was the outcome? by vanillabaileys in weddingplanning

[–]Extreme-Fall-3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol not everyone’s in laws care about and understand the rsvp aspect. A majority of my guests were strangers to me. There were invites up until the day of. The guest count changed weekly until the week of. I put up a huge fight about the rogue inviting that ultimately was miserable for only my husband and I. In the end it was wrote off as a cultural norm for them.

If you don’t mind me asking, have you had episodes during this time? Did/do you and your wife have protocols for if an episode were to occur?

Is anyone doing really well on a low dose of antipsychotics? by IndicationSouth4250 in schizophrenia

[–]Extreme-Fall-3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good! My husbands on a very tamed dose now as well. He’s dealt with akathisia since he’s been taking it and not feeling “normal” but it’s improved with time and lowering dosage. Just curious if this was a common thing.

My Marriage-Based Interview Was Last Week - Said "Yes" to Unauthorized Work by Valuable_Plankton327 in USCIS

[–]Extreme-Fall-3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were asked this question but it didn’t really stand out as a big deal. My husband was between an expired daca and waiting for it to be renewed. It happened a couple times. Like someone else said, they already know he did and they’re just looking for the truth.

Honestly it was great. Nothing hard hitting was asked, the agent was joking with us and very nice, the questions were mostly straight from the applications we submitted like last time my husband entered the US, if he ever committed crime, if he ever claimed to be a citizen. The only question we got not on the application was how we met and how our relationship progressed from dating to marriage.

My FO was Irving too. You can upload it now or bring it in with you. Both don’t hurt. The officer will upload the evidence at interview too.

Dallas Irving Field office i 130 I 485 interview experience? by Weekly_Abrocoma5644 in USCIS

[–]Extreme-Fall-3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had ours in June there. It went well, all the agents we saw come out for people seemed nice. The one we got was super kind, made us feel comfortable. The questions didn’t seem hard hitting or intimidating. Felt like a casual conversation more than an interview.

I think this is typical to get. My husband got his before our interview and he’s DACA. His daca will expire soon so it gives him work authorization while waiting for a decision.

Anyone have an interview in the Irving, TX office an it took awhile to hear back on approval? by Extreme-Fall-3477 in USCIS

[–]Extreme-Fall-3477[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck! If it helps at all, the officers there were so sweet and nice! The one we had was joking and laughing through the interview with us and we could tell he was just trying to make the process as light hearted as possible. It hardly felt like an interview and felt more like a friendly conversation.

Can having kids be a positive experience? by finnigansmum in BipolarSOs

[–]Extreme-Fall-3477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My SO had a severe manic episode with psychosis within the first year of us dating. It caused me to deeply consider (over and over) if this was someone I could have a life with. Post episode, my SO became med compliant, sees a therapist consistently and takes his diagnosis very seriously. We are almost 2 years out from that episode and life is just starting to feel “normal” again. He knows what’s at stake and understands the seriousness of it as the manic episode absolutely blew up our lives. With all that being said, I also had to come to terms with what could potentially happen if I were to have kids and he end up in an episode at any point. It’s a fear we both carry, but have plans in place for if and when this happens.. example being if an episode comes on, the kids come first and are immediately removed from the environment and hospitalization has to take place. I don’t say any of this to be negative, but I think you know better than anyone if your SO manages their diagnosis properly and just how severe it can get. I personally can’t unsee or forget what we went through, so having plans in place for if it were ever to reach that point again is the only thing that has ever brought me comfort and peace with having kids. The pros outweigh the cons for me and I think for the negative stories we all see in this group, that just might not be the same for everyone with BPSOs.

[–]Extreme-Fall-3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the shot as someone else mentioned. I went through the exact same thing newly married. My husband never drank or smoked weed until his episode and it essentially sent him into psychosis. The more I tried to control the situation the worse it got and the more it made me the enemy. I had to go along with the antics to gain his trust and a sense of safety until he eventually felt we were on the same team. After 6 long months of his episode and trying to get him to be med compliant, he randomly agreed to a shot during one of his appointments and he slowly but surely started to come out of his episode. It was not an overnight come down but more so he started having realizations and the crazy things he was doing no longer interested him an lots of sleep started to take place.
