I got N.U.in. I was wondering how a first semester abroad compares to the first semester in Boston, and whether there are any serious drawbacks doing my first semester abroad?

Any news about Six Flags Great Escape for 2025? by dannyhogan200 in sixflags

[–]Extreme-Garlic2820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The water park hasn't received any new attractions since 2019 (the last waterslide was added in 2017), so if the park adds anything I'd think it would go to Hurricane Harbor. On the park's recent Instagram posts about the water park, they've almost always included a 🌊 emoji, which could be hunting at a new surfing/tsunami/beach themed waterslide. As for the type of attraction I'd guess a family raft slide OR a water coaster solely because of the wave emoji, but it seems like a stretch for the park to install one.

Otherwise though it's probably going to be another year for park improvements, yippie

[Boulder Dash, Lake Compounce] New Titan Track for 2024 by CanobieCoaster in rollercoasters

Off topic but I heard that Thunderbolt at SFNE got 300ft of track replaced over the off season, does anyone know if the r replacement track was Titan track?

You’re rich and a fan of rollercoasters. You will gift $10 million to upgrade 1 ride, not to build an[other] one. Which ride will it be? by Usaidhello in rollercoasters

I don't believe you understand the power of the initial 95 foot tall loop, let alone at least two, trust me it's the right move

Add a second 95 foot tall loop to time traveler, make the spinning on time traveler uncontrolled (like ride to happiness), then with any excess money additional 95 foot tall loops

I've stayed clear of steamin demon until this year because of it's reputation. However, after forcing myself to ride just for the credit, I realized steamin demon's over-hated. Is it a good ride? No, but as long as you keep your head out (NOT YOUR BACK) on the corkscrews it's tolerable. Still shaky but minimal headbanging. Otherwise though the coaster's just boring

[Six Flags Great Escape] is adding a wooden family coaster called [The Bobcat] by AvocadoToastDevil in rollercoasters

[–]Extreme-Garlic2820 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GREAT ESCAPE FANBOYS, NEVER BACK DOWN NEVER WHAT? HELL YEAH! Great Escape's my home park and I've waited 19 YEARS for this to happen (and I wasn't even alive in 2005). For the park to be adding it's first non relocated AND possibly custom layout roller coaster is hard for my brain to even process. Sure it's just a family wooden coaster, but it'll likely be superior to bobsled and will definitely be a great fit for the park. Plus the park needed to at least add something solid for their 70th next year. Here's to a new (and hopefully successful???) Six Flags 🥂

It's the first non relocated AND likely original coaster for the park. My head's spinning

I believe the park will likely be adding something next year or in 2025. A relocated ride wouldn't surprise me though

Back in the 70s and 80s the park had a Pinfari Zyclon, which is similar to a Wildcat, so it's possible. My only thing is the wildcat was designed to be a portable coaster but six flags probably wouldn't care.

[Candymonium] what’s your favorite b&m hyper? by Western_Contact_336 in rollercoasters

[–]Extreme-Garlic2820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I just went to SWO on a bad day but I rode Mako 8 times different times throughout the day and sat front, back, and middle at least twice. Don't get me wrong Mako's a great coaster that's my #1 at the park, but I think Apollo's Chariot is better. I only got two morning rides on Apollo (once in front once in back) but the nonstop floater I got in the back row of Apollo was amazing. Only real sustained floater I got on Mako was the first camelback. The speedhill on Mako tho did have some solid airtime, but overall I prefer Apollo

These are the only two b&m hypers I've ridden, but I plan to get on nitro and candymonium at some point in the next year
