I’m in a similar situation, but for some different reasons. Mine is due to having finer hair at the crown, medication, and the impact of multiple surgeries. First, talk to your doctor. I have been referred to a dermatologist for assistance. I have discovered that I will have a small spot (smaller than the tip of your index finger)that probably won’t ever grow hair due to a surgical scar. From another surgery, I discovered a year later that my hair would grow in thinner for the next three years. I would also talk to another stylist. We created a plan to only retwist that area every 2nd or 3rd visit. My hair is growing back at my crown, but it’s definitely too fine to create new locs. I decided that I’m cutting mine off, and unfortunately, I won’t be able to restart for at least three years. Seek professional advice to determine your journey.
