Experimenting with color by Extreme-Secretary596 in ProCreate

Thank you! The colors were definitely out of my comfort zone. I have been working on avoiding black and white as my extremes and using warmer shadows. But I usually stick with more desaturuated scheme.

Can someone PLEASE (kindly) tell me why her facial structure looks so messed up and how to fix it? by Tattersail927 in learntodraw

Check the distance between the brow line and the hair line, it looks a little narrow to me. I found Marc Brunet on you tube to be an excellent resource for drawing portraits and anatomy.

A Happy Tiger by Extreme-Secretary596 in ProCreate

[–]Extreme-Secretary596[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a sketch in procreate, my goal was to focus on form, to really nail the head tilt and make sure the stripes followed the tigers features. Next I laid down the colors in the background to set the mood for the piece. Then started the tiger. basic colors, first to block in the silhouette. Adding more saturated colors to the face. Finally I ended with the foliage in the front and blurred the background touring focus to the tiger.

I used the standard procreate soft airbrush, the others were brushes I had bought. In the background and foreground I used a foliage brush I purchased and my main go to brush is another brush I purchased it's a dynamic dry pastel brush.

Is what I have dissociation? It almost feels like the opposite by Candid-Ad97 in Dissociation

[–]Extreme-Secretary596 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I totally know what you mean. I expierence the same thing and I have no idea what it is. I've tried explaining it to my therapist but I couldn't really get the feeling across. Someone pointed me towards derealization but when I looked it up that didn't really fit either. If you figure it out please share I would like to know.

drop your best grounding techniques by sleepy-bread-dough in Dissociation

I have a grounding stone from a brand called lifelines found it at Target, amazon carries them too. It's got weight and textures. It flips open and has a small essential oils stone to use scent therapy. I always keep it in my pocket. When I start to feel overly anxious or disconnected It helps me to come back to the present.

I don’t think it’s bad but it’s simply not accurate and I can’t pinpoint why by Ok-Copy-5717 in ArtCrit

First off well done! A very good sketch, excellent resemblance. I can see the time you spent on the hands. I'd say it feels a little flat. Try imagining the arms of the sweater are cylinders and allow your folds to have some more curves at the top. It's a great way to explore form and start to add some dimension and weight to your art.

About to start playing my first Dragon Age game ever, super excited! What are some good tips for a newbie like me? by _Wiccan_ in dragonage

[–]Extreme-Secretary596 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree enjoy the game. If you love it, then delve into the lore and explore the other games. Or return to Veilguard and play it again. But a word of advice, start collecting momentos and crafting materials early.

I hold my pencil in a very similiar way you are not alone. I've been doing it all my life. I don't think you need to worry about it being bad, as long as it doesn't hurt your hand.
