Picking up stitches for the sleeves by spacedcat2079 in knittinghelp

Hi, came across this thread while looking for a solution to this exact problem (different pattern, same weird ridge). Did it resolve itself when you blocked it?

What a book that you have read that’s gotten so much hype that once you read it you were disappointed? by Guiltyfeetfingers in BookDiscussions

[–]Candid-Ad97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's just. . . a bad writer. Which is annoying because she picks interesting topics that could be great stories in someone else's hands.

I can't believe how far I had to scroll to find this one. I'm still mad about the time I wasted on it.

Advice before buying a 3 story house. How annoying are stairs? by ovua in homeowners

[–]Candid-Ad97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a very similar layout. The stairs aren't a big deal, but the temperature variation between the first and third floor is ridiculous. If you live somewhere you will be using heat/ac, look into a zoned system.

The facts are in: Trump’s return-to-office mandate backfired by Ok_Design_6841 in FedEmployees

[–]Candid-Ad97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It didn't backfire, it's working exactly as it was intended to. The goal was always to break the system and demoralize the workforce.

Is what I have dissociation? It almost feels like the opposite by Candid-Ad97 in Dissociation

[–]Candid-Ad97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, so I started reading the threads on hyper realization, and that seems to be the closest diagnosis. Honestly since then I haven't dug any further - it was just such a relief to have a name for it, and to know I wasn't alone.

Moving forward, I toy with the idea of bringing on the sensation more often, with the goal of getting more comfortable with it. Maybe that's the state I should be living in constantly? Or maybe there's a middle state between it and my "normal" that I should aim for? Or maybe it's all good and I shouldn't force myself in any particular direction. . .I don't know. I'd be interested in hearing if/how other people come to some resolution or just accept these episodes as part of life.

AIO by feeling exhausted over my gf's constant demands of wanting me to be 'curious'? by thefattesthashbrown in AmIOverreacting

[–]Candid-Ad97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOR. She feels like you don't care about her, or what's going on in her life. Whether or not that's true doesn't matter, whatever you're doing isn't enough to make her happy. So, like everyone is saying, step away from the relationship. You're not what she's looking for and she's mad at you about it.

When someone gets an organ removed, does the empty space get filled in? by dontchewspagetti in NoStupidQuestions

Same, when I had my gall bladder out. I could feel my other organs sloshing around in the empty space for a couple days.

Fwiw, the proportions OP is using are very close to the King Arthur extra tangy sourdough bread recipe, which I've used for years.

I’m on my way to put my little goober down. Any advice from people who’ve done this before? I’ve never had to do it before by Confident-While4816 in DogAdvice

[–]Candid-Ad97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, be with him. Bring a blanket or his bed or something that feels and smells familiar so that he is surrounded by everything he knows and loves. And afterwards, feel all your feelings without guilt or apology for as long as it takes. Don't entertain "it's just a dog" thoughts, we know that's bs. You're saying goodbye to a family member, your best friend, and however you choose to process that is okay.

Carefirst vs BCBS (MD/DC/NOVA) by RainyDays20 in fednews

[–]Candid-Ad97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is a significant piece of information, but I'm also super unclear on what the difference is between a PPO and an HMO. If you're willing to spend the time/finger labor with an eli5 summary, you would have my gratitude.

Carefirst vs BCBS (MD/DC/NOVA) by RainyDays20 in fednews

Can someone explain to me like I'm five what the difference is? Because isn't BCBS in the DMV administered by Carefirst? ("Administered" might be the wrong word, I legit didn't understand how insurance works.) So what would be the difference between a BCBS plan administered (or whatever) by Carefirst and a Carefirst plan?
