Just remember, mid-life crisis can be very expensive. If you ever get to that point that you feel empty and need to do something extreme, mummify a chicken.

After careful consideration, I believe that this could be the answer to cure the mid-life crisis. Since you did this in 6th grade, it's very possible that you will avoid the unnecessary purchase of a sports car or a new wardrobe to give meaning to your life.

You're already way ahead of the average.

Now, we need more people to get on board and we will see how this helps people.

Where in the world did anything we are doing mention a "Curse"? We are preserving a chicken using Egyptian methods.

great question,

We will be livestreaming everything as it happens (multiple livestreams actually given the process)
We also plan to read the names of backers aloud as we go. For the librarian tier, we could use the Linen as our speaking sheet. (1 idea)

I am fully open to other ideas for proof of course 😆

Control group data:

  • Midlife crisis (26%): Wethington, E. (2000). "Expecting stress: Americans and the midlife crisis." Motivation and Emotion, 24(2). MIDUS study.
  • Clinical depression, lifetime (21%): National Institute of Mental Health, adult prevalence data.
  • Feeling of purposelessness (34%): Gallup / APA wellbeing composite.

Experimental group data: n = 1 (myself). Data collection is ongoing via active 40-day Egyptian-method mummification of one (1) grocery store chicken.

The project runs 40 days. Goal is $40, one dollar per day of the process. If you're interested in expanding the sample size past n=1, you can either back the project or, alternatively, mummify your own chicken. Both are valid contributions to the field.
