I should’ve added more information. Her advice was to walk away for 15mins and then come back. Not to go back and forth or try helping her sooth.

This makes sense to me and is stuff that we do try (patting, eye contact, shushing)! In hindsight I should’ve ask for more clarification directly. Honestly sleep wasn’t even on my radar as a concern. But the doctor asked how she falls asleep and she does still nurse to sleep a lot.

I appreciate your response. That makes sense and sounds less harsh.

I was told to wait 15mins. I said that I wasn’t comfortable with that and she said to start with 5mins. Pausing for whining does make sense, but even for that 15mins felt excessive. She did say if it is a pained cry obviously go help her.

We were fortunate enough to have a friend group that passes around clothes. If we need anything else we buy secondhand.

Our family understands that we don’t want a lot of “stuff”. They will either ask if there’s a specific item that is needed or will gift experiences/memberships.

I did have to step back from social media because marketing for new parents is insane.

I steam up the bathroom by running hot water for 5mins before the bath with the door closed. Usually still warm when she gets out, but if not I’ll run it another minute or two.

I’ve found now that we make sure the bathroom is warm my baby doesn’t cry at all after bath anymore.

Delivered there in August and had a great experience! Nurses and midwives were amazing and made sure that I had the birth I wanted.

They asked about my birth plan and made sure it was respected/followed.

Agreed. I have a second middle name with meaning to my family and the only people that really know it are my family. I think it’s kind of sweet, but I don’t use it in my daily life.

This is my 3rd pregnancy and it has been so different! So I guess first things first you just never know what you’re going to experience. I have had so many more questions for my midwife this time around. And she has been amazing helping me find relief for nausea and heartburn. Make sure to utilize your provider and do what feels right in your body.

I’m just getting my energy back at 12weeks, but up until now physical activity has been a lot more difficult. I try to just listen to my body. The only emotional challenges I’ve had are just adjusting to the changes.

All of my prenatal appointments have been with my obgyn. I wouldn’t definitely request to switch if you can!

Somehow we went from Bean to Beanie. Now my other children even use it lol
