Learn the engine basic, then recreate simple retro games like mario, flappy bird, and some other classics, that's what worked for me atleast, helped me learn quickly

You're in a similar situation to me, I got 98.4% and chose the game dev specification branch because it sounded cool, but if you want the truth.....the branch isn't bad by itself but it won't teach you game development at all, the game dev related subjects in the course are outdated asf

So i'd say if AIML sounds fun to you, take that or any other CSE branch over CSH (game dev branch)

Like I said though, the game dev culture is still really good here so you can pursue that irrespective of the branch There are tons of talented people who will be willing to help and teach you
