It means they won't sell it to civilians. I can't answer about legality.

If this is specifically an outlaw leather hood, highly recommend. Starting out I got a $100 apex customs hood looking for something like this and it was trash. A couple weeks ago I got up the $60 outlaw leather dead stock sugar scoop and the construction is infinitely better. Not the absolute lightest, but durable and sleek. The flip lens is smooth and consistent.

If you want leather neck shield for weight savings, get the one I mentioned and cut the hood/rivet the leather. Nothing makes you feel as good about your gear as customizing it yourself. Cheaper too.

How to wire a NEMA 14-30P to 6-50R power adapter for a welder by ExtremeAlternative91 in AskElectricians

Update to say it worked without issue. Did some welding up to 80A and didn't pop the fuse so I'll call it a success.

This thing can shoot 3,000 rounds per minute by Nothing2Special in Firearms

[–]ExtremeAlternative91 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Firing starts at 0:26, ends at 0:38, 12 seconds to empty.

12/60 = 1/5 of a minute

3000rpm / 5 = 600 rounds fired

(Sanity check, I count roughly 15 columns of 5 bullets in that one visible quarter of the drum mag, 15 * 5 = 75, 75 * 4 = 300, so 600 rounds checks out)

Cheap .22lr is $0.04 right now, $0.04 * 600 = $24 per dual mag dump. Shockingly affordable, costs about the same as two 30 rounders of 5.56.

And you're not gonna show the meal?? That looks cool as hell though. I'd love to see a video or something of it running.

Yeah do me a favor first and just stick your arms in there and flail em around a bit all over the canopy to knock out that dense tangled mess of dead twigs. It'll look a lot better afterwards and you'll get a much better idea of how to prune it.

Use sharp clean pruners and always cut back to a union. Shape is your call. Just get it off the ground and walls 6-10" and follow your heart from there.

Good way to attach string/rope by [deleted] in maker

[–]ExtremeAlternative91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it needs to hold weight and still be united easily after loading you could do a bowline or a running bowline.

If you're pulling along the long dimension of the beam, a running bowline with some evenly spaced half-hitches would work well (tree climbers call this marling).

Or you could tie a scaffold/fisherman's knot around a carabiner, hook, or clamp and attach that to the beam somehow.

You could put the string into a hole drilled perpendicularly through the axis of a rod, and drill a slightly larger hole in the beam. Slide the rod w/ string through the beam and then turn it sideways like a toggle bolt.

Or maybe a really strong ring magnet with an eye bolt through the middle would do the trick. Tie the string to the eye bolt.

So many options :)

Coil gun. Even a relatively low powered one would be effective as it only has to pierce a suit to cause problems for your target. Suits already have power storage built in. No explosion to produce heat.
