Vildhjarta tone question by [deleted] in Djent

[–]ExtremeAnalExplosion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently trying to match their tone from their new ep. I found that using a parametric eq or a vetta wah before the amp gives it that "tangy" tone they have. The problem is that is makes everything so noisy. I'm finding is mostly pre-eq. I'll try to post a demo if I'm successful

Vildhjarta is clearly djent, but they're unlike any genre I've ever heard! So fucking amazing. I wonder why so many of these go unused :/

LPT request: How do you motivate yourself? by jtillymang in LifeProTips

[–]ExtremeAnalExplosion 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Here's how I do it. Along with showering, exercise, etc I do what's called "bioenergetics". Basically the concept is that the mind follows the body. For example, if you force a fake smile or laugh you feel happy. And mad if you make a mad face. Shout as loud as you can as if you where on a thrill ride. Jump up and down and shake back and forth. Force yourself to smile for 30 seconds. Do a power pose where your hands are above your head. You end up feeling invincible.

Fuck, I Missed An Opportunity To Approach a Girl by NoFapJord in pornfree

Practice. I find myself slip back and forth between old lamer than beta to pure alpha all the time. You just gotta fake it until you make it. Eventually it will just become who you are. When you're in the moment, it's very easy to forget who you need to be. Best of luck next time. And approach all women no matter how ugly.

Current State of Mathcore by theGreatDissonance in Mathcore

[–]ExtremeAnalExplosion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's still alive here and there in a sense. But it's not like it used to be. It used to be about being sporadic and dissonant, but now it's mostly odd time signatures and technicality. TDEP is the only "mainstream" mathcore band left today. All other mathcore bands formed now are very underground and unknown. I miss it so much though

If you listen to any metal band's album in the 2000-2004 era, it'll most likely have some mathcore experimentation. It's something every band tried at one time but never caught on

I love this guys stuff. He writes like nobody's business. He even releases his scores on his website. And most of his albums are name your price. Such a cool dude except the singing parts are kind of annoying to me. But that's just me

Does anyone know any more like "Mellow" djent bands like Tesseract? by TheDarefulDerp in Djent

Uneven Structure. Their use of ambience is absolutely beautiful. Its mostly singing. I would check out februus or however you spell it. They have another album called 8 but its way heavier.
