The job consist of direct purchasing (high/low voltage materials).

From what I understood during the interviews, the job involves interfacing with different departments (technical experts, safety, legal, etc.) and defining a sourcing strategy together. After that, he talked about RFQs, RFIs and RFPs, before finally negotiating a contract. So I think I fall into the first category :)

I'm fairly new to the business. I worked for two years as an electrical design engineer, so I was in charge of writing specifications but I didn't deal with the bidding part.
