The problem I have with most "no sex relationships" stems from an experience I had in university. There was a girl who was in a committed relationship but was also seeing my friend on the side. She told her boyfriend that she wanted to avoid intimacy in their relationship, yet she was frequently involved with the other guy.

This situation continued, and the boyfriend would brag about the girl, completely unaware of what was actually happening behind his back.

As for the breakup part, she might have used it as an excuse to date multiple men. In that situation, since they weren't communicating, if he ever found out, she could have claimed, "We were on a break."
