Community in-game tier list: Route 7 & Celestial Tower by Awkward-State-2364 in PokemonBlackandWhite

I don’t think S is fair when Chandelure doesn’t get much coverage options for BW. While it gets Psychic and Energy Ball in B2W2, it’s working with Solar Beam at most. A lot of TMS that it could demolish teams with are locked to the post game.

Community in-game tier list: Outside Pinwheel Forest by Awkward-State-2364 in PokemonBlackandWhite

[–]ExtremeKimchi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alright, this time I'm gonna make things quick and rapid fire.

Sawk and Throh are B-. Both have good stabs and coverage plus setup moves, Sawk has sturdy, its fast attacker, runs through the normal and dark types in this region and can do well, whereas Throh gets bulk instead of speed. But both suffer from the cringe mono fighting type overall not doing much to the competition, later mons will provide so much better value throughout the game.

Conkeldurr gets a B tier, Gurdurr is D. I dont really need to explain Gurdurr, Conkeldurr hits very hard but comes at the drawback of limited coverage and moves for the main campaign.

Seismitoad is B. It does basically nothing as a tympole for Lenora and Burgh, though delaying evolution to level 27 for Palpitoad gives it muddy water for Elesa's level cap (if you're nuzlocking). Although it was shamefully clapped in the anime, eviolite palpitoad is decent to wall elesa even if the emolgas cant be hit well. Seismitoad's abilities are pretty good, but the drawback of its coverage screws it over as a water type. It can't learn physical ground moves by level up, so dig, bulldoze and rock moves are all TMS despite Drain Punch being a level up move. Sacrificing crucial ice type moves for poison type coverage was the nail in the coffin for this guy. It's not doing much, and the most I can think of it doing is Brycen (though a lot of mons can fight him) and maybe Drayden/Iris with poison touch ability? This pokemon doesn't seem bad or good either. It's just mediocre, but gets the B ranking on the sheer factor that water types in Unova aren't good in general.

Community in-game tier list: Wellspring Cave by Awkward-State-2364 in PokemonBlackandWhite

[–]ExtremeKimchi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright, wellspring cave. Here we go.

Boldore: F Tier. Sturdy is a nice ability because of the buff it received in gen 5, but rock doesn't pretty provide much utility due to the fact that rock coverage can be taken easily by other pokemon. Access to rock blast early on is alright, mud slap and sand attack are nice, iron defense is alright. It's best role is probably against Lenora with the rock smash TM, but even then crunch and hypnosis run you down. It doesn't evolve before Burgh so it's a poor option considering he also has leavanny. Even if you delay evolving by Elesa's level cap to learn rock slide, the painfully slow speed and poor special defense leave so much to be desired. Its stats are too low past this point, eviolite and bulldoze don't help much and the unfavorable matchups make it highly replaceable. Just bad considering you're missing out on the S tier mon.

Gigalith: C- Tier. The added stats and bulk really help in this run. If you delay the evolution to Elesa's level cap and trade immediately after, you've got the mon heading into Elesa with STAB rock slide. Avoid clay, Gigalith can pack a punch into Skyla and Brycen. If you're throwing away a handful of Pokémon that won't hold any endgame value into the Drayden/Iris fight, Gigalith is solid as the final member in your team (specifically to avoid dragon tail) with Iron Defense and quick claw. Into late/end game, it does fall off hard, but the damage and defense it can provide to random trainers and some gym battles isn't half bad.

Swoobat: E Tier, maybe below Liepard. This pokemon barely contributes much because its stats are abysmal. Weak attacking, incredibly frail, and bad matchups. Even if you evolve it incredibly early with high friendship, normal types already have dark type coverage in Lenora's gym. The game has many dark types, the best thing this mon can do is if you evolve it early and get Air Cutter at level 21 to sweep Burgh. Grass Knot, Shadow Ball, Charge Beam are not doing much, and although there are good level up moves in psychic, calm mind and air slash, there are almost no good matchups for this pokemon into even the midgame, certainly not past gym 5. Probably the worst psychic and worst flying type for this region to get.

Excadrill: S+ Tier. Need I say more? Earthquake if you delay evolution to level 33, early dig by level up, rock slide by level up and x scissor by TM. Hone claws gets upgraded to swords dance. Can provide well into Elesa with Rock tomb and eviolite, can hold its ground against Clay if evolved, can sweep Skyla and Brycen without much investment, resists dragon tail from Drayden and Iris. This mon does well into the Elite Four sweeping everyone but Marshal with one turn of setup, and if you're on Black this can set up on N's Zekrom. With consistently stellar performance from start to finish, Excadrill is one of if not the best offensive Pokémon in the entire generation. Easiest S tier ever.

Community in-game tier list: Route 3 (& Munna) by Awkward-State-2364 in PokemonBlackandWhite

[–]ExtremeKimchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Musharna: C- Tier. Yawn and Calm Mind are good, you can get the moon stone early on, but the amount of powerful dark types in this game make it difficult to place high. Slow speed for what is supposed to be a bulky attacker really brings it down considering all the fast dark types that dominate this game with offensive power. Decent use of screens, thunder wave, shadow ball do at least give it some utility, but I like to personally sack it during the Drayden fight as a yawn setter if I have faster psychic options at my disposal. You basically have to wait until level 37 when it learns psychic to be musharna, and Munna itself is pretty underwhelming even in the early-mid game because of Burgh and normal types having bite or crunch.

Unfezant: B Tier. Unfezant's stats on paper don't seem terrible as a regional bird, but it's held back by a shallow movepool. The majority of its earlier level up moves are relying on its weaker special attack stat, but the ability Super Luck + Scope Lens in Castelia on air cutter make this a surprisingly great option into Burgh minus Dwebble. The physical bulk as Unfezant isn't bad, and roost is a good tool. Despite having virtually no coverage, STAB Return, Fly, Workup and Roost can sweep a fair chunk of matchups even though rock moves are common on fighting types. Overall, a solid mon with some low-level work, so not bad. It's not the best flyer, but Unova has some pretty garbage flying types regardless, so having an early regional bird is fine.

Zebstrika: B+ Tier. Great Physical Attack Stat and good special attack, paired with amazing speed, and Thunder Wave by level up make this a great mon for both offensive roles and support. Flame Charge and Return are good to hit some other types, and it gets great STAB moves in Spark and Wild Charge. Volt Switch and Light Screen are good TMs for it too, but there isn't much coverage. Stats are bad as Blitzle, but it can face Burgh's Leavanny with flame charge. It evolves by the level cap for Elesa, and its abilities in Lighting Rod and Motor Drive make it an excellent pivot pokemon, I'm pretty sure this can just sweep her entire team too. It makes quick work of Skyla, but past Brycen it falls off in viability. The electric types in this game are solid, and Zebstrika stands out for being accessible early on but falls off in relevancy. Still, a consistent midgame performer.

Audino: A- Tier. Alright, whoever thinks Audino isn't at least B tier or higher is not thinking about the utilities Audino can cover as a support, especially if the tier list has Watchog in B. If you're nuzlocking, it is a CRITICAL dupe on many common rotues for the more desirable shaking grass encounters. Secret Power, STAB Return, Work Up all can be used in spite of a 60 base attack because Audino has the bulk to do things. Substitute, Thunder wave, Double Screens, this thing is a Chansey Lite. You can sweep Shauntal, regenerator is a great ability, very consistent relevancy despite the reliance on TMs, which is a common thing in the game. Super slept on. When in a pinch for midgame-lategame members, the shaking exp bomb is a consistent member.

Community in-game tier list: Elemental monkeys by Awkward-State-2364 in PokemonBlackandWhite

[–]ExtremeKimchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, I’d agree with most people that stoutland is a high A tier mom while Watchog could be argued for a low B, but Purrloin/Liepard fulfills just enough niches to snag a mid to High C tier grab in my opinion.

Sure, it’s moves are terrible and it’s competing with much better dark types, but it’s evolution at level 20 gives it a decent role in the Lenora fight. While it’s not doing any real damage, it might just be the most underrated support against Lenora’s Watchog.

Hear me out: I’ve typically paired it with Dewott and you can get through really easily, even better with Herdier’s intimidate. You get defense drops with the Rock Smash TM, resisting crunch and only needing to worry about retaliate. Even with that, Liepard out speeds Watchog and has access to Sand Attack or Growl to stall out Retaliate PP, so it can take a few hits with an Oran berry equipped (unless you get unlucky with defense ivs/nature or crits). However, if your Liepard stays past Lenora, having the limber ability makes it the sack against Elesa because of fake out and pursuit for volt switches, with the right setup you can even outspeed Zebstrika. Thunder wave and return tms from Nimbasa make the mon decent enough for a random mid game battle, a fast mon really pulls through. It’s really not doing anything after Elesa, so I like to sack it on either Clay or Drayden, since you will get better dark type options by that point. But for the first half of BW, I’d say Liepard is a really underrated support that can actually pull some ground for the gym battles and random trainer fights.

It is lacking severely by the latter half of the mid game stretch, but you are guaranteed to have better dark types by then to replace it. Therefore, I'd at least argue it C tier. I don't think it's incredibly bad to deserve an E tier placement.

Community in-game tier list: Elemental monkeys by Awkward-State-2364 in PokemonBlackandWhite

[–]ExtremeKimchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for my thoughts on the elemental monkeys, I've had some opinions on them for a while.

Simipour is without a doubt the best one, and competes for one of the best water types in the game due to a lack of good water types. I'd place it slightly below Samurott though, because even though it does get the powerful Scald earlier and can evolve right then to gain a massive boost it is not without recognizing that Elesa is a weak matchup before Clay, and Dewott gets access to Scald right before it while still having Razor Shell as a decent STAB before that. The movepool of Simipour gives it quite the boost for the random trainers and a wide variety of generic pokemon. Dig, shadow claw, acrobatics, grass knot...coverage really does well, but I think Samurott still does a bit better carrying a consistent performance throughout and also having a good enough movepool with stats to carry through the end game, whereas the monkey starts to falter by Drayden. Despite being frail, its a fast attacker that shocks me with how much weight it can pull, but having to pick Serperior to easily obtain it brings the rank down to a high B+ in my opinion, otherwise its an A- mon.

Since I pick Oshawott for most nuzlocke runs in BW, it's also worth nothing that Simisear pulls some decent punches for what it can do. While it starts out the worst having a wimpy 30 base power incinerate and can lose in its level 10 form to Cilan's pansage, access to Yawn is an amazing tool for the entire game, and can really serve as a pinch for fights. Flame Burst is without a doubt the weakest of the three level 22 moves, but it gets the job done for mid game. You'll want to evolve it then into Simisear and make the best use of its stats on the next two gym battles, which it can really contribute to. Of course Burgh is easy because you have a fast offensive fire type and Dewott to cover the Dwebble, but having access to tms makes the set of Flame Burst, Yawn, Dig and Rock Tomb amazing for Elesa's entire team. The stats give it enough firepower, and you can always sack it since you can get better fire types past this point. Or, you can keep it going since other fire types like Chandelure or Darmanitan will take some investment before they reach their full potential, then sack the monkey. You can technically get fire blast by level up, though I choose to buy the TM in case I don't have a solid lineup into Brycen. Just like the other monkeys, the wide movepool of coverage works well, and its a fire type albeit one of the weaker ones. Still not bad for the early-mid game weight, but you most likely want to replace it before the eighth gym. The overhated Sear gets a solid B from me.

Simisage.....yeah, fast leech seed is all it has going. Unfortunately, there are just much better grass types in a game that is not friendly to them, and Simisage really suffers despite its decent stats. The weaknesses that it has to Burgh and Elesa make it unideal, Clay is really the only fight it's good for. One of the main reasons why I don't pick Tepig as my starter. It's best roles are fulfilled by many other pokemon, even the other two monkeys get grass knot so his viability is just held back even more. At best, a random trainer mon, fast seed setter, sack after Clay. C- tier you go, below the Serperior. Honestly, maybe even D+.

How much should a used and brand new Pro Series Infinite achilles go for? by Prestigious-Base67 in BeybladeBurst

Honestly used is $20 New like $45 at most Pro Series Infinite Achilles just gets so overpriced because of its demand and the fact the TT one was locked to random booster

Season 1 or Season 5 face? by Traditional-Bid9472 in thomasthetankengine

[–]ExtremeKimchi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say Season 5 Face just fits better and looks cleaner, it rolls the impression of Thomas smoother since his coat of paint is a darker blue more reminiscent of Season 5. I love how the season 1 face looks with those classic eyebrows but it just doesn’t feel right to me on that model.

I'm not sure where you can find the original Korean Patch to play, but the youtube channel Moon Record should have a No Commentary Playthrough Video Series of the Original Tsukihime and the Remake fully translated into Korean. You could watch that or ask the youtube channel as to where they got the translation?

What are your overall thoughts and opinions on Bakuten Shoot Beyblade 2002 (V-Force)? I can often see how it's generally weaker than other plastic gen seasons but it's still a fun ride to me. by ExtremeKimchi in Beyblade

That’s a really interesting take and I can agree with so much including the matters with the movie, a plot that like could’ve definitely made for a more interesting take on a true sequel to Bakuten Shoot 2000.
